In this video, I’m using a smoke chamber parging sprayer to properly seal and smooth the smoke chamber inside this fireplace system.

Why is this so important?
The smoke chamber is one of the most critical (and commonly overlooked) areas of a chimney. When it’s rough, cracked, or improperly formed, it can:
• Restrict draft
• Cause smoke to spill back into the home
• Allow excessive heat transfer to surrounding framing
• Increase creosote buildup and fire risk

Proper smoke chamber parging creates a smooth, sealed pathway that improves draft, increases efficiency, and enhances overall fireplace safety. This step is a huge upgrade for both performance and long-term protection.

Recently completed a chimney and fireplace safety inspection near Rolf Ave in Edina (55439).

The inspection included evaluating two fireplaces and their associated chimney systems for visible safety concerns, structural conditions, and overall functionality. No repair work was performed during this visit.
