Yesterday I drove all the way to Mesa for what turned out to be a fake turf cleaning appointment.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a one-time thing. We’ve now had 4 fake bookings come through our online scheduler. They used fake names, didn’t provide phone numbers, and when I emailed to confirm, the replies came from completely different names before they stopped responding altogether.

As a small, local business, fake appointments don’t just waste time—they cost real money in fuel, travel, and lost opportunities to serve actual customers.

Because of this, we’ve updated our booking process and now require a valid phone number before an appointment can be scheduled.

I’m sharing these screenshots not to call anyone out, but to remind other small business owners to verify appointments before making a long drive.
