Just enjoying a visit from this lil Mason wasp. I let her groom herself and then she flew away.

Bug Girl Tip: Mason wasp are solitary wasp. They are very beneficial and will eat caterpillars from your garden. When you treat your gardens with dust or spray, you kill off your beneficial insects and will have less of a yield. One trick is to plant plenty of wildflowers near your garden and to also companion plant. This will help you to have a higher yield.

Just sharing a cold Coca-Cola with my girl. She visits daily and enjoys the cool beverage. Now if I can convince her to get in my swarm trap. 🐝 ❤️

Garden gnome and his honeybees. Beeing a keeper has taught me so many things with nature, insects and myself.

Sometimes as a keeper of bees we deal with death of a few or an entire colony. There are many factors as to why they die. The girls in this display died after a bee removal. The colony lived on in the apiary.

While working jobs I try to be observant of my surroundings and where I step. I found this Woodland rat partial skeleton and a large carpenter bee.

This is my first attempt at putting specimens together for display other than preserving them in resin.

My lil Virginia flower fly (Milesia virginiensis) that visits every day supervising our deck build. She approves of all the new wood and cracks the whip on us. She is also known as a yellowjacket hover fly and is very loud. The pups don’t like her.
