We keep hearing how AI is going to take away jobs. Yes, this will happen on some level, but AI will also create many other jobs.
As far as the cleaning industry, there are automatic floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners available today, but we are a long way out from robots replacing humans.
If you are a human and looking for a part-time job, we are hiring! 😊
Here is what Chat GPT told me about cleaning robots:
Mid term (5–15 years)
• Humanoid or multi-purpose robots in development from firms such as Boston Dynamics and Tesla could begin handling:
• Emptying trash
• Wiping surfaces
• Moving supplies
• Simple repetitive office chores
Reality: Partial replacement in large facilities, but humans still needed for detail work, judgment, and customer interaction.
Long term (15–30 years)
Robots may become:
• Fully autonomous in routine cleaning environments
• Cost-competitive with human labor
• Integrated with smart buildings and scheduling systems
Reality:
Even then, complete replacement is unlikely—cleaning involves:
• Problem-solving
• Adaptability
• Trust and relationships
Those human elements are hard to automate.
