🦝 When a mother raccoon no longer feels her babies are safe, she moves them — one by one — to a quieter den.

Our exclusion fluid and eviction paste don’t harm raccoons or separate families. The scent simply signals to mom that the space may no longer be secure for raising kits.

Once she decides it’s time to relocate, she carefully carries each baby to a new den site — often tucked safely inside a hollow tree, brush pile, or another sheltered location nearby.

📹 Watch this sweet moment:
A protective mama pauses on camera to show off her tiny kit before continuing the move to safety. Tiny ears. Tiny paws. Full raccoon attitude already. That sound is very recognizable!

Humane wildlife removal means solving the problem without creating a worse one.
Safe for your home. Safer for wildlife too. 🌿

The babies aren’t harmed, mom is making decisions, and wildlife removal can be firm without being cruel.

🦝😍 Cute? Absolutely. Tiny? Not exactly. But you'd be surprised what a raccoon can squeeze through!

This little fluffball is showing off one of the reasons raccoons are such successful home invaders—they need far less space than most homeowners realize to slip in and out of an attic or wall void.

A gap that looks "too small" can be just right for a determined raccoon looking for a safe place to raise a family. That's why even minor damage to soffits, roof edges, vents, or eaves can turn into a wildlife problem before you know it.

The good news? Finding and securing those entry points is what we do best.

And yes... we're all a little distracted by how ridiculously cute this one is. 🦝❤️

Welcome our newest Prickly Pear Employee- James joined us in early April right before all the crazy critter conundrums kicked off for the year.

Hi, I’m James.

I’m based in Austin now, but originally moved here from Pennsylvania. My background is in construction and repair, so I’ve always enjoyed building things, fixing problems, and working with my hands.

I got into wildlife exclusion because I care about both people and animals. I enjoy finding solutions that protect homes while handling wildlife the right way — without creating more problems for the animal.

At the end of the day, I’m basically still the same kid who loved tools, climbing on things, and solving puzzles… just grown up now and doing it professionally.

What I enjoy most about this work is taking a stressful situation and making sure it’s handled correctly the first time.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me spending time with my son and my dog, playing airsoft, watching movies, reading, or checking out live music.

Fun fact: I actually enjoy the jobs most people avoid — tight spaces, steep roofs, weird angles, and tracking down problems that aren’t obvious.

Glad to be part of the Prickly Pear team.
