☀️ Central Texas Heat Is Here... and Wildlife Is Feeling It Too! 🦝🐿️🐍
When temperatures soar into the triple digits, wildlife starts looking for the same things we do—shade, water, and cooler places to escape the heat. Unfortunately, that can mean your attic, garage, crawl space, or under your porch becomes the perfect refuge.
Here are a few simple ways to help protect your home this summer:
🏡 Inspect your home's exterior for gaps around the roofline, vents, soffits, and foundation.
🌳 Trim tree branches at least 6–8 feet away from your roof to reduce access for squirrels and raccoons.
💧 Eliminate standing water to discourage mosquitoes and other pests.
🗑️ Secure trash cans with tight-fitting lids to avoid attracting skunks, raccoons, and opossums.
🍖 Bring pet food indoors and clean up fallen birdseed or fruit that can attract unwanted visitors.
👂 Pay attention to unusual sounds. Scratching, thumping, or chirping in your attic or walls may be an early sign of wildlife moving in.
The best time to stop a wildlife problem is before it becomes one.
If you suspect wildlife has made itself at home, Prickly Pear Wildlife Removal is here to provide safe, humane solutions and help keep your home protected all summer long.
