This week a good amount of our team spent the day working on a large seal-up project at a local church. Standing on the roof, next to a steeple that's been part of the community for decades, it was hard not to think about how many Michigan winters that building has seen.
From the ground, most people would never notice the areas we were repairing. Small gaps, shifted flashing, and places where years of weather have slowly created an opportunity for wildlife.
One thing we appreciate about jobs like this is they remind me that good wildlife work isn't really about removing animals. It's about understanding buildings, understanding behavior, and fixing the small things most people never notice.
It was a great team day and a good reminder that attention to detail matters. The areas that cause the biggest headaches are often the ones you can't see from the ground.
Sometimes the biggest problems start with a gap no wider than your thumb.
