📖 Did you know? Before the suits, the shows, and the global fame, Steve Harvey was homeless. Not struggling. Not broke. Homeless. Living in his car with nothing but a prayer and a promise.
Behind the celebrity laughter and the television empire... there was a man sleeping in a Ford Tempo, bathing in gas station bathrooms, with no degree, no plan, and no sign that things would ever turn around.
Instead of giving up or turning bitter... Harvey made a deal with God.
"I used to tell God every day, if You let me make it, I'm going to tell everybody it was You!"
And on every stage, every show, every platform God has given him, he has kept that promise.
"Well guess what... I'm telling you that it was Him!"
He had no formal education. No degree. No connections. Just faith in a God who specializes in taking nobodies and turning them into testimonies.
"What you see today is a boy that came out of the bottom, who believed in Him when there wasn't any sign of me getting through it."
And the advice his mother gave him that carried him through the darkness?
"When it gets dark for you, when you can't find your way, don't forget to pray.
Don't be ashamed to pray. And don't ever be too proud to pray. Because prayer changes things!"
That was not a motivational speech. That was a mother passing down the only survival tool that actually works.
✝️ "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13
💡 The real takeaway: God does not need your resume. He does not need your connections, your degree, or your plan. He only needs your faith and your willingness to keep the promise when He brings you through. Steve Harvey kept his. Will you keep yours?
