Over this past weekend, a three-alarm fire occurred in West Bradenton at Aaron Lakes Apartments. Six people were injured, including four children who were transported by helicopter. A total of sixteen families were displaced from their home. According to Cedar Hammock Fire Marshall, the fire began in the dryer vent.

Today marks the beginning of Fire Prevention Month. While most fire prevention methods are obvious, did you know that every year, around 15,000 structure fires are caused by dryers, most of which are due to dirty dryer vents? As firefighters, we at Ten-8 Dryer Vent Cleaning have seen first-hand the devastation that a house fire causes, and we are passionate about making sure that no one in our community ever experiences that. We have proudly served Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, and Pinellas County through cleaning dryer vents for nearly five years, and as firefighters for even longer.

Called out after an AC company "cleaned" this vent (also charging much more than we do). When getting your dryer vent cleaned, make sure you use an experienced company that focuses on cleaning dryer vents.

This dryer experienced a flash fire due to the entire system being blocked with lint; from the termination on the roof to the exhaust outlet on the dryer. Fortunately a more serious fire did not occur.
