Hands down the most beautiful setting I’ve seen a Bald Faced Hornet’s nest in. I took this one down in south Nampa this morning. The customer is planning on having his trees trimmed tomorrow and was concerned for safety of the arborists.

Cool find at my 1st service of the day. A Cat Faced orb weaver spider.

I see these several times a week and have always thought they’re pretty cool looking. It’s one of the main species of spiders sent to me for identification. These spiders, like many others are beneficial because they eat insects. They’re considered harmless and have low toxicity-venom.

I guess paper wasps and I have something in common? We both like motorcycles. 🤣

The probability of getting stung by a wasp is much higher when you don’t know they’re there. Movement as simple as walking by is all that it takes. I was fortunate enough to see this one before they saw me. 🤞

This is one of the larger yellow jacket nests I’ve removed this year. (A little larger than a basketball.) I haven’t received any calls for bald faced hornets yet but I expect to be receiving calls for them within the next couple of months.
