Noank, Connecticut Sewer Pipe Lining

Here’s a before-and-after look at a pipe liner we recently installed in Noank, Connecticut.

This sewer line was clogged solid with severe root intrusion when we arrived. Traditional excavation would have been extremely difficult due to retaining walls, underground utilities, and the depth of the pipe beneath the roadway.

Instead, we rehabilitated the entire pipeline using trenchless pipe lining. The liner was installed through an existing interior cleanout, allowing us to restore the sewer line without digging up the property.

The project took just two days to complete with no disruption to the homeowners and no major excavation required.

When excavation isn’t practical, trenchless pipe lining can often provide a permanent solution while preserving your property.

Mystic CT Sewer Pipe Lining

Out in Mystic, Connecticut rehabilitating a severely deteriorated sewer line with trenchless pipe lining technology.

This pipeline was suffering from multiple issues including trench rot, heavy internal rust buildup, root intrusion, and sections of pipe that had rusted nearly closed over time. These are common problems in older sewer systems and often lead to recurring backups, slow drains, and costly excavations if left unaddressed.

After thorough cleaning and preparation of the line, we installed a cured-in-place pipe liner, creating a brand-new pipe inside the existing damaged pipeline.

With the liner now in place, the trench rot, root intrusion, and internal corrosion have been permanently eliminated. The customer now has a fully rehabilitated sewer line without the need to excavate and replace the entire pipeline.

Trenchless pipe lining allows us to restore failing sewer lines while minimizing disruption to the property and providing a long-term solution to underground pipe problems.

New London CT Sewer Pipe Lining Preparation

Out in New London, Connecticut preparing another severely deteriorated cast iron sewer line for trenchless rehabilitation.

This sewer has it all: a buried sewer trap, heavy root intrusion, and significant trench rot throughout the pipeline. Before we can install the liner, the first step is removing the old sewer trap. Since we’re installing the liner from an interior cleanout and extending it all the way to the city sewer connection under the road, the trap has to go. Leaving it in place would prevent the liner from reaching its destination.

Once the trap is removed, we’ll thoroughly clean and prepare the pipe, removing roots, scale, and debris. After that, the line will be ready for lining.

A successful pipe lining project starts long before the liner goes in. Proper preparation is what makes the difference between a liner that lasts and one that doesn’t.

New London CT Light Cured Pipe Lining

In this video, you can see us installing a light cured pipe liner from an open trench. Because this type of liner cures with UV light, it must be protected from direct sunlight during installation. That’s why we’re working under a tent. Even natural sunlight can begin the curing process before we’re ready.

One of the biggest advantages of light cured pipe lining is that it gives us virtually unlimited working time during installation. Unlike other lining systems that begin curing as soon as the resin is mixed, this liner remains workable until we activate the curing lights.

That extra control can be a major advantage on more complicated projects where precision and timing matter. Once everything is in position and ready, we switch on the lights and begin the curing process, creating a new pipe inside the existing one without the need for full replacement.

Stonington Borough CT Main Sewer Line Unclogging & Pipe Milling

In this video, we’re opening up a main sewer line that had nearly rusted shut from heavy cast iron scale buildup.

Due to extremely tight access, traditional drain cleaning equipment would not fit. Instead, we used a high-speed pipe milling shaft attached to a drill to mill through the scale and restore flow to the sewer line.

While this successfully reopened the pipe, the underlying problem remains. Cast iron pipe that has rusted closed like this is already severely deteriorated and will continue to cause problems if left untreated.

The next step will be returning to install a trenchless pipe liner, creating a new pipe inside the existing sewer line and helping prevent future backups without the need for major excavation.

Stonington CT Main Sewer Line Cleaning

This is the reality of a main sewer line backup.

When we arrived at this property in Stonington, Connecticut, the main sewer line was completely backed up and the entire plumbing system was full of sewage water. Before we could even begin clearing the blockage, we had to carefully open the sewer line and drain the backed-up wastewater into containers to prevent it from ending up all over the basement floor.

Once the system was drained down, we were able to clear the blockage and restore flow. After the sewer line was flowing properly again, we used a submersible pump to transfer the wastewater from the containers back into the sewer system where it belongs.

One thing many people never think about during a sewer backup is the mess. A careless contractor can easily turn a sewer backup into a sewage cleanup project. Taking the time to properly contain and manage the wastewater helps protect the customer’s property and keeps the job site clean.

That’s the difference between simply opening a sewer line and doing the job right.

Stonington CT Sewer Pipe Replacement To Cesspool

Out in Stonington, Connecticut performing a full underground sewer pipe replacement from the house to the existing cesspool.

In this video, you can see us inside the open trench gluing and assembling new sewer piping near the customer’s deck as we install an entirely new sewer line. The existing piping had deteriorated to the point where a full replacement was the best long-term solution.

Proper excavation, pipe installation, and grading are critical to ensuring long-term reliability and proper drainage flow.

Stonington CT Sewer Pipe Lining & Connection Reinstatement

Out in Stonington, Connecticut performing trenchless sewer pipe lining work and reopening a sewer connection after the liner installation was completed.

In this video, you can see us using specialized milling and sanding equipment to carefully reinstate the connection from inside the freshly lined sewer pipe. After a liner is installed, any branch connections that were covered during the lining process must be precisely reopened from inside the pipe.

This process requires specialized equipment, camera guidance, and precision to properly reopen the connection and restore full flow through the system.

Once completed, the connection is restored and flowing properly through the newly rehabilitated pipeline.

Trenchless pipe lining allows underground sewer pipes to be structurally restored without major excavation while creating a smooth, joint-free interior pipe surface.

North Stonington CT Sewer Line Repair & Full System Rehabilitation

Out in North Stonington, Connecticut performing a complete sewer system rehabilitation on a severely failing sewer line connected to an existing cesspool system.

In this video, we are cutting into a sewer pipe that was completely backed up with sewage due to the piping sitting below the water level inside the cesspool. When sewer piping is installed under the liquid level of a cesspool or septic system, it can create constant backup issues, poor drainage, and major system failures.

After removing the failed section of piping, we will be completely re-piping the sewer connection into the cesspool properly at the correct elevation. The cesspool will also be pumped, and the remaining sewer piping will be rehabilitated with a trenchless pipe liner.

This is a full rehabilitation of the existing sewer system up to the cesspool, designed to restore proper flow and eliminate ongoing backup problems.

Waterford CT Sewer Camera Inspection Reveals Major Pipe Failure

Out in Waterford, Connecticut performing a sewer camera inspection where we discovered the bottom of a cast iron sewer pipe completely missing with a massive void in the ground underneath. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why the customer was having sewer problems.

At this point, the camera inspection has to stop and the next step becomes planning for either excavation or trenchless pipe lining to properly repair the sewer.

One thing we always explain to customers is that cast iron sewer pipe usually does not rot out in just one isolated spot. Even if the rest of the pipe still looks decent on camera, the bottom of the line is often paper thin throughout the entire run due to years of trench rot and corrosion.

Yes, sectional repairs can be done, and we perform them regularly in the right situations. But with severely deteriorated cast iron sewer lines, repairing one small section is usually not a permanent solution. In most cases, we strongly recommend repairing or rehabilitating the entire sewer line to prevent future failures and recurring backups.
