A full-time animal control officer is responsible for enforcing ordinances pertaining to animals and collecting domestic and non-domestic animals during regular working hours. He is also on call 24-hours a day for emergencies that pertain to domestic animals such as dogs and cats. Dog License: State law requires you to license your dog by three months of age. You can pick up a dog license applicat

ion at the municipal building or at the Monroeville Public Works Building. The Shelter is staffed by volunteers and is by Appointment ONLY.. All animals available will be posted on petfinder.com and an application MUST be filed out and approved prior to a meet and greet.. Monroeville Animal Shelter is now a 501(c)(3) and accepting donations thru the Monroeville Foundation. If you would like to donate check out their website at www.MonroevilleFoundation.org. We're just under a week away from National Night Out!

Monroeville's NNO gets bigger every year, and this year is no exception! We will have first responders, emergency vehicles to explore, food, games and so much more. And be sure to bring a donation to a local cause for a chance to send a municipal employee into the dunk tank!

We had a wonderful day out at Papa Rocks for the Car Cruise! It was so great spending the day with everyone who stopped by to visit, meet our amazing dogs, and support the shelter.

Milo and Maizey, this adorable brother-and-sister duo, are doing amazing in their new home! ❤️

Heather and her husband had mentioned they were hoping to adopt two kittens, but they wanted to wait until the timing was just right. We kept them in the back of our minds, and when Heather reached out, it just so happened that we had the perfect pair waiting for their forever home.

As soon as the family met these sweet babies, they knew they had found the newest members of their family. Milo and Maizey are now spoiled by two wonderful parents and three human siblings who already adore them!

Happy forever, Milo and Maizey! 🐾 Thank you, Heather and family, for opening your hearts and giving these two the loving home they deserve. We can’t wait to watch your adventures together!

The Monroeville Animal Shelter is excited to be taking part in this event this year! We’ll have a booth set up, and a few of our shelter dogs will even be joining in on the derby! 🐶
