Let’s talk about the most important step in rug cleaning that almost nobody talks about 🟰DUSTING!
Every rug acts like a giant air filter in your home.
Over time, dust, dirt, sand, pet dander, hair, and debris work their way deep into the foundation of the rug.
The crazy part? A rug can hold POUNDS of dry soil and still look relatively clean on the surface.
This is why proper rug cleaning starts with dust removal.
• dusting removes dry particulate soil before washing
• washing a rug without dusting first can create mud deep within the rug
• the more soil trapped in the rug, the less effective the wash process becomes
This is one of the challenges with in-home rug cleaning. Most rugs are not properly dusted before the cleaning process begins.
And unfortunately, some in-plant cleaners skip this step too. 😳🙈
