So true!
Sentimental things kept out of guilt, clothes that don't fit, unfinished projects, perfectionism - letting go is hard. But doing hard things ultimately makes life easier. You've got this!

This right here! Instagram life isn’t always real life! Don’t feel bad that you “can’t” accomplish what you see on a reel. Do what works best for you and your family. Good enough is still a good life. 🌻

A relative of mine is currently dealing with the absolute nightmare of financial fraud and identity theft.

I have *three* other personal friends whose Facebook accounts - one of which was a professional profile for a business - were hacked and taken over by strangers, and Facebook won't do anything about it.

We know what we should do to protect our identity and money, but often we get complacent and let things slide. I'll be changing my own passwords and habits TODAY!

Here are those important reminders again:

⚠️ Check your bank, credit card, and other financial accounts DAILY - yes, every single day! It's the best way to catch and stop suspicious activity.

⚠️ My relative's financial advisor told them to separate email functions from financial functions in the future: Use a separate computer or laptop ONLY for financial purposes and never log in to email or other communication accounts on that designated computer.

⚠️ Change your passwords frequently.

⚠️ Use passwords that don't relate to your personal info or identity.

⚠️ Be careful about opening emails, texts, or private messages from unsolicited sources, even from what looks like a legitimate account.

⚠️ Delete marketing communications without opening them.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking "That will never happen to me" - even the most intelligent people can become victims.

Stay safe out there!

This is what we call “body doubling” at its finest! Gather some friends and snacks, and get things checked off your list. Another option at the holidays: a gift wrapping party. 🎁

"Six years ago, after watching my circle of friends surrender one too many evenings to insurance wrangling and doctor portals and DMV confusion, I emailed them a proposal: Come over next Tuesday. Grab a six pack. And bring your bills, your credit-card statements, your school forms, the streaming services you need to unsubscribe from, the airline miles you need to manage, the expenses app you need to figure out.

I’d be throwing the lamest party ever.

At the heart of this party was a truth that has gone under-acknowledged in recent years: We’re all sinking. We’re sinking into a quicksand of tiny, dumb administrative tasks. It is the most tedious quicksand imaginable.

I called my nerdy little party Admin Night. The premise: deal with the stuff we’ve been putting off, help each other when possible ('anyone have luck connecting with Comcast?') and make a fun evening of something onerous.

Right away we marveled at how productive we were. Having friends hammer away beside you, faces lighted by the same bureaucratic glow, somehow makes dreaded tasks manageable. Little projects postponed for years—closing a checking account, updating a will—become approachable when you’ve got a squad."

Here, Chris Colin makes his case for throwing your own Admin Night party.

Clear the decks!

Here in the U.S., Labor Day marks the end of summer and the return to the routines of school and work. For many, September feels like the other January.

In episode 443 of the “Happier” podcast, we did a “Clear the Decks” exercise to help listeners make a fresh start—here’s the list in bingo format. Clearing the decks will help you feel more organized and energized.

We’ve heard from many listeners who love this approach. Check out the printable bingo card below, share your progress in the comments, and let us know what tasks we should include next time.
