"After an 85-foot red oak fell onto our garage during a summer storm last year, we found ourselves navigating a much more complicated restoration than we ever anticipated. Unfortunately, our first contractor proved to be a tremendous disappointment—we ultimately had to terminate the relationship due to poor communication, lack of performance, and a loss of trust. Throughout every phase, Kyle and Scott kept us informed about scheduling, sequencing, payment draw schedules, inspections, permits, and next steps. We always knew where the project stood, which made an inherently stressful process feel manageable.
One of the things that impressed us most was how effectively the Paul Davis team worked with our insurance carrier, USAA. They handled the documentation, supplements, and communication with the insurance company so professionally that what could have become a frustrating process felt remarkably seamless from our perspective. They advocated for the actual scope of work required, allowing us to focus on our home instead of navigating insurance paperwork. They also coordinated seamlessly with Fairfax county throughout the permitting and inspection process, ensuring everything was completed properly and to code.
I also want to recognize the outstanding subcontractors who worked under the Paul Davis umbrella. Every crew that came to our home was punctual, skilled, courteous, and clearly committed to doing the job right the first time. It was obvious that Paul Davis holds its trade partners to a very high standard, and that consistency showed throughout the project.
The craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail reflected a team that genuinely takes pride in its work. Just as importantly, they treated us with honesty, respect, and professionalism from beginning to end.
After our experience with our original contractor, working with Paul Davis was a breath of fresh air. Kyle, Scott, and the entire team delivered exactly what they promised, and the finished result exceeded our expectations.
