You can call me unprofessional all day long for this, it’s okay, I really don’t care. 🤣

My son Luke is 12 (almost 13) years old, and during the summertime I occasionally bring him to work with me. He’s a great helper, and my clients absolutely love him… especially the fur clients. 🐾

Today, I took him with me to clean for one of my elderly clients. She hardly leaves home due to health issues, but she is always such a joy to be around. I truly enjoy seeing both her and her husband every time I visit.

Normally she’s a little quiet and reserved which is completely understandable, but today was different. I wish y’all could have seen the pure joy on her face having a child there while I cleaned. I truly think it made her entire day.

People don’t always think about our elderly. Some have grandchildren or great-grandchildren who live far away, and some don’t have any at all.

You know that bittersweet feeling as a parent when your children grow up too fast? Imagine that same feeling as a grandparent.

Today’s cleaning reminded me that life moves way too fast. We get so caught up in schedules, work, stress, and routines that we forget how meaningful the little moments can be.

It reminded me to slow down. To spend time with the people I love most. To appreciate the small things. And honestly, it reminded me that I need to slow down and go visit my own grandma Faye too.

Sometimes, something as simple as letting an elderly person be around children or their own grandchildren can completely fill their heart.

Today’s cleaning was different, but in the best kind of way. 🤍
