⏰🔥 Change Your Clocks, Check Your Smoke Alarms!
Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026! As we turn our clocks back one hour, Northland Chimney Service would like to remind everyone that this is the perfect opportunity to make sure your home and family are protected.
🏡 A few simple safety checks can make all the difference:
🚨 Test Your Smoke Alarms: Press the test button on every smoke alarm in your home to ensure it’s working properly.
🔋 Check Your Batteries: Replace batteries when needed, following the manufacturer’s recommendations. Remember that some alarms have sealed, 10-year batteries that should not be replaced.
💨 Check Your Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Make sure they’re functioning properly and haven’t reached their expiration date.
📅 Check the Age of Your Alarms: Smoke alarms should generally be replaced every 10 years, while carbon monoxide detectors should be replaced according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
👨👩👧👦 Review Your Family’s Fire Escape Plan: Make sure everyone in your household knows what to do and where to meet in the event of an emergency.
💙 At Northland Chimney Service, we believe that protecting your home goes beyond chimney maintenance. It’s about helping our neighbors and their families stay safe throughout the year.
An extra hour of sleep is wonderful, but the peace of mind that comes from knowing your family is protected is priceless.
🍂 Stay safe, stay warm, and don’t forget to turn your clocks back!
