The Downtown Community Job Center is located near the Downtown Fashion District, and is operated by IDEPSCA (Instituto de Educación Popular del Sur de California), a non-profit organization. It was founded in 1998, and is funded by the City of Los Angeles. The Downtown Community Job Center functions as a public safety alternative to soliciting employment on street corners. These centers help protect day laborers from suffering severe exploitation and unsafe work conditions. How we work:
The Downtown Community Job Center connects honest, organized, and respectful workers who provide skilled labor for a vast variety of jobs to employers. Our workers follow a registration system to distribute jobs fairly, but employers are also free to choose any worker in particular. Type of Skills/Jobs Offered:
* Moving
* Loading & Unloading
* Construction
* Repairs
* Demolition
* Cleaning
* Electrician
* Landscaping & Gardening
* General Labor
The pay-rate for each job is based on level of skill and amount of time required to complete it. As a non-profit, we do not take any cuts in either direction. Call us now for an estimate! The center is currently closed but operating fully over the phone & online. Call, message, or email us from Monday thru Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. If you need workers for the weekend, you can call during the week to set up workers for Saturday or Sunday. Disclaimer:
The Downtown Community Job Center as a business and organizational branch accepts no legal responsibility for any damages to property or incomplete work. All claims can be filed through the job center for further investigation and evaluation of our workers only. The Downtown Community Job Center serves as a space for mediation between workers and employers.
