Position Overview
Kivi Services is seeking reliable, professional, and detail-oriented 1099 Contract Cleaning Workers to perform cleaning and janitorial services at client locations throughout Chicago.
The ideal contractor takes pride in their work, arrives on time, communicates professionally, and consistently delivers a high standard of cleanliness.
Responsibilities
* Perform commercial and/or residential cleaning services according to client specifications.
* Clean offices, common areas, restrooms, kitchens, floors, and other assigned areas.
* Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, disinfect, and sanitize surfaces.
* Empty trash and maintain clean, organized spaces.
* Perform deep-cleaning and move-in/move-out services when assigned.
* Follow client instructions and Kivi Services cleaning standards.
* Safely use cleaning products and equipment.
* Report maintenance concerns, damages, or supply shortages promptly.
* Maintain professional conduct while working at client properties.
* Protect client property and maintain confidentiality when required.
* Complete assigned jobs within the agreed-upon timeframe.
* Communicate promptly with Kivi Services regarding scheduling, job completion, or client concerns.
Qualifications
* Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
* Reliable transportation to assigned client locations.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Professional appearance and communication.
* Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
* Ability to stand, bend, walk, lift, and perform physical cleaning duties.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Must provide professional cleaning supplies/equipment when required by the contract.
Independent Contractor Requirements
As a 1099 independent contractor, you are responsible for:
* Maintaining your own business records and tax obligations.
* Providing any required cleaning supplies or equipment specified in the contract.
* Maintaining reliable transportation.
* Completing contracted services according to agreed-upon standards.
* Maintaining appropriate insurance or business documentation when required by Kivi Services or the client.
* Following all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing independent contractors.
Important: A 1099 contractor is an independent business rather than a Kivi Services employee. The exact relationship, control over the work, payment structure, and contractor obligations should be established in a written independent-contractor agreement and comply with applicable Illinois law.
Compensation
Pay: Contract-based / per-job compensation.
Compensation may vary depending on the size of the property, type of cleaning, frequency of service, scope of work, and contract requirements.
