Just one girl with a DREAM. I’ve been sitting here reflecting on the last six years, and I have SO much on my heart. Over six years ago, I took a chance on myself. I had a dream, a whole lot of determination, and absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself into.
I didn’t have a business degree. I didn’t have anything figured out. I didn’t know all the ins and outs of running a business. I just knew I wanted to build something of my own, work hard, and create a life I could be proud of and somehow, that little dream turned into something bigger than I ever imagined.
One Girl & a Broom became MY business. MY dream. MY livelihood. ❤️ But there’s something I don’t talk about enough.
I didn’t get here without mistakes. I didn’t get here without growing pains AND I certainly didn’t get here without some people showing me a whole lot of grace along the way.
To my LONG-TERM clients, especially those of you who have been with me since the very beginning, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Some of you met me when I was still trying to figure out how to run a business, let alone balance everything life was throwing at me. Some of you have watched me navigate some pretty difficult seasons of life. You’ve seen me grow, stumble, learn, pick myself back up, and keep going and if I’m being completely transparent, I know there were times some of you probably if not definitely considered giving up on me.
And for those moments, I genuinely apologize. But you know what? YOU STAYED. You gave me patience when I was learning. You gave me grace when life got messy. You gave me opportunities to do better instead of immediately giving up on me AND I hope you know I have NEVER taken that lightly. Because of you, I’ve become a better business owner. I’ve learned the importance of communication, consistency, accountability, boundaries, and standing behind the work I do. Honestly? You’ve helped me become a better person, too. Some of you have become so much more than clients. You’ve become friends. You’ve watched my little girl grow up. You’ve celebrated milestones with me, checked on me during difficult times, and supported me through many different chapters of my life. You have trusted me with your homes, your families, your pets, and your personal spaces. That kind of trust means EVERYTHING to me.
To my clients who have been with me for years without ever questioning whether they wanted to continue, THANK YOU for your loyalty and confidence in me.
To the clients who gave me another chance when I needed one, THANK YOU for believing I could do better.
To ALL my clients who have recommended me to friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, THANK YOU for helping my little business grow.
To my NEWER clients, thank you for taking a chance on me. You may not have been here for the beginning, but you’re just as important to the future of this business.
To my FUTURE clients, the ones I haven’t even had the pleasure of meeting yet, I cannot WAIT to meet you!
I hope when you choose One Girl & a Broom, you know you’re supporting someone who has poured her heart into building something from absolutely nothing.
Someone who genuinely cares about the work she does and the people she does it for.
Am I a perfect cleaner? NOPE.
Am I a perfect business owner? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
But am I the same girl who started this business over six years ago? NOT EVEN CLOSE. I’ve grown. I’ve learned. I’ve made changes. I’ve invested in myself, my equipment, my services, and my future, and I’m STILL learning. Because that’s what owning a business is. It’s constantly evolving, learning from your mistakes, celebrating your wins, and figuring things out as you go.
There have been days I’ve cried. Days I’ve been frustrated. Days I’ve questioned whether I was cut out for this. But there have also been SO many days I’ve stood back, looked at what I’ve accomplished, and thought, HOLY CRAP I ACTUALLY DID THIS. 🥹
One girl. One dream. A whole lot of hard work.
Here I am, over six years later, running a successful business that I built with my own two hands. Not because everything was easy. Not because I got everything right. But because I refused to give up, and because so many incredible people believed in me along the way. These pictures are just a little glimpse into some of the beautiful homes I’m blessed to care for. Behind every one of them is a client who has helped make this dream possible.
I don’t ever want to get so caught up in the hustle of running a business that I forget to appreciate the people who helped me build it. So if you’ve ever hired me, referred me, shared one of my posts, encouraged me, given me grace, or simply cheered me on…..

To those of you who stuck around through the learning curves, the growing pains, and the not-so-perfect chapters I hope the business owner I am today makes you proud that you didn’t give up on the girl I was back then.
Six years down, and I still have SO many dreams left to chase.
