Celebrating 30 Years of J4K Cleaning! 🧼✨
In the later part of 1996, we started J4K Cleaning by cleaning one physician’s office part-time in the evenings. At the time, I was a facilities supervisor at Aliant Communications, and after two years, Alltel bought Aliant and we were told our department would be eliminated. I was stressed about what came next…
Then Kellie said, “Let’s do this on our own.” I honestly thought it would never work—but she was determined. We mailed letters to businesses, and soon after we officially started, we received our first call: Quest Diagnostics. We cleaned for them until last year when their corporation decided to go with one nationwide provider for all locations.
From there, we added a few accounts in the Williamsburg area, and we were fortunate to be contacted by Hampton Enterprises to clean common areas and their offices. Their relationship-driven motto says it best: “Relationships really do matter.” They’ve lived that out year after year—and they remain our longest-standing customer. And today—30 years later—I feel truly compelled to thank everyone who helped make this possible:
to Kellie, for her determination and for handling our financial business;
