Hard water spots on glass shower doors are one of the most frustrating things to keep clean in between cleans! Here is a highly effective tip for you to keep your glass doors sparkling until we come back for your next scheduled clean!
🚿 The Magic Combo: Heated Vinegar & Dawn Soap
White vinegar is the ultimate hard water killer, but when you spray it on a shower door, it just runs right down the drain before it has time to work. The secret is binding it to a thick soap!
1. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into a microwave-safe bowl and heat it for about 45 seconds (warm, not boiling).
2. Pour the warm vinegar into a spray bottle and add 1 cup of blue Dawn dish soap.
3. Shake gently to mix, then spray a thick layer completely covering the cloudy shower glass.
4. Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes to do the heavy lifting.
5. Scrub gently with a non-scratch sponge, rinse thoroughly with warm water, and squeegee dry.
🧪 Why This Works
The acid in the warm vinegar breaks down the stubborn calcium and magnesium mineral deposits stuck to the glass. The thick dish soap acts as a binding agent, trapping the vinegar against the vertical glass so it actually has time to melt the spots away.
🛑 What to Avoid
Remind your audience to **never** use abrasive scouring pads, steel wool, or Magic Erasers on their shower doors. It might take the hard water off, but it will leave permanent micro-scratches in the glass that will make it look permanently cloudy over time.
