This week, Jake stopped by to visit Stephanie with SERVPRO of Eastern Lake County and learned more about the amazing work their team does throughout the community! 💚

Stephanie shared that one of the biggest misconceptions about their industry is that people think SERVPRO only handles fire and flood damage. In reality, their team also specializes in post-construction cleanup, mold remediation, biohazard and crime scene cleanup, and odor removal. 🏠✨

We also asked Stephanie what role Jake from State Farm would play if he joined the SERVPRO team. Her answer? “Production Management! With his knowledge base of insurance, that would be a perfect fit for him!”

One memorable project Stephanie shared was helping a local university after pipes burst during the January freeze. The SERVPRO team acted quickly to stabilize the damage and helped get classrooms and offices operational again much faster than expected.

🚨 WEATHER ALERT – TREES DOWN, POWER OUTAGES & STOPLIGHTS OUT 🌬️🌳⚡

Due to the high wind & sever weather, the City is currently dealing with multiple downed trees, downed power lines, power outages, and traffic signals without power in several areas.

🦺 Public Works crews have been actively responding to incidents throughout the day, including downed trees, unsafe roads, debris, and intersections without power.

Crews will continue working as long as conditions remain safe. We appreciate your patience as they work to keep roads clear and the community safe.

🚦 IMPORTANT: If you approach a traffic light that is not working, Indiana law requires drivers to treat the intersection as a FOUR-WAY STOP.

✔ Come to a complete stop
✔ The first vehicle stopped goes first
✔ If two vehicles stop at the same time, the driver on the RIGHT goes first
✔ Proceed slowly and carefully

⚠️ Please do not drive through barricades or near downed wires.

🌩️ Additional severe weather is expected tonight. Residents are encouraged to stay alert, use caution while traveling, and monitor local forecasts.
