Are you blind?

What do you see?

Walk by faith but not by sight !

Your eyes can deceive you.
What they see, most the time they will want. This is where we get the term “Hungry Eyes”. Be very cautious at what you view and look at for your mind can wonder. To avoid this, You must pray for the power and discernment to be able to look away when the time arises. For once you see ….. you can’t unsee.

“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This week, learn to guard your eyes. Don’t look at things that won’t glorify God.

Building!

What are you building?

Is it noticeable?

Will it stand the test of time?

Whatever you you are building, make Jesus your cornerstone.

How do you speak to others?

Do you build them up or tear them down?

If I asked you to build a storage shed, but insist that you need to fabricate all the parts yourself. You would probably say thats too hard to build.
Now if I said, tear down this shed. You would say, no problem, when do I start. No other instructions required.

As you can see it is easier to tear down then It is to build. The same is true with our comments towards people. It is easy to tear/put them down. We need to work at complementing and encouraging them to build them up.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭29‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This week, make an effort to build people up and not tear them down?

Side note: Jesus was a carpenter, this proves he was a builder.

What is real?

Are you for real?

Is your walk with God Real?

Talk is cheap, words need to be backed by action. Kind acts for your own glory don’t make you Holy or better than anyone else. If it ain’t from the heart and for him (Jesus), you are just going through the motions.
We need to make our commitment to following Jesus serious.

If it matters to God, it should matter to you. If it matters to you, share it with God.

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.”

This week, make a vow to start taking your following Jesus more serious instead of just going through the motions. Make it matter!

No!

The Bible doesn’t need any updating. God is not going to rewrite the Bible for your generation. Tell the world to Stop trying to change scripture! It was written to change you!
The Bible has stood the test of time and will continue to inspire and help everyone that studies it. There are several translations, and the translations are accurate in comparison to the original Greek or Hebrew.

But Beware of the digital versions!

Because in this digital world, someone can alter the meaning. However, a digital copy is convenient, but it is wise to always have a paper copy to reference the digital version. Digital versions can be alter in a blink of the eye.
For as people try to change the Bible to fit their own needs and desires.They are no better or different than the people who worshiped Baal in times of old.

“You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you. Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal-peor, for the Lord your God destroyed from among you all the men who followed the Baal of Peor. But you who held fast to the Lord your God are all alive today. See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, 'Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.'”

This week spend some time reading one of the 4 Gospel’s or the book of Romans to familiarize yourself with the text, so that no one can fool you with false doctrine.

How do you answer?

What is your level of responsibility?

We all have some responsibility in our day to day life. As a child, you were given chores. As an adult, we have chores and a job. So additional responsibilities are now required. Jobs should teaches us to be productive and helpful, and in return we get paid for our contribution. We must work at being productive! The old saying “ Idle time is the work of the devil” is true. When we are not occupied with productive work, we have a tendency to do things we should not and get ourselves in trouble.

For example, we are to be responsible for the way we act toward others.
Luke 10:30-37

We are responsible for the way we treat our families.
1 Timothy 5:8

We are responsible to study God's Word.
2 Timothy 2:15

We are responsible for the way we handle money. Hebrews 13:5

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

This week, embrace your responsibilities and offer them up to God and be thankful for what he has given you.

Why does it seem like we can’t communicate with each other anymore more?

Answer, we now have a media, that no one can trust. This is because we have so many sources telling us their point of views instead of the Truth. This causes confusion and mixed emotions among society. The only way to avoid being sucked into this chaos, is to follow what Jesus has taught. I know it sounds trite, but by reading and studying the Bible and by following Jesus, you will get a sense of peace, that leads to the truth. And where there is peace …………
there is rest.
Let the Bible be your guide not some newscaster or talking head.

“Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

This week, stop following the world and turn off the news and turn to Jesus for guidance and peace.

What is good?

Are people good?

Are people generally good?

The answer may be shocking, but it is
No!
How did I come to this conclusion?
Looking at sin and our sinful nature, we gravitate to what is not good. The only hope of any goodness in us is through Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. This is why we need God and believe in God, which proves that God is good always.

“Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in the way.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Take a deep breath!

Doesn’t that feel better?

We shouldn’t have to make space to breathe, but we have to because we cram too much into too little moments of time.
We need to take the time to breathe.
In truth, we all have limits and paces, but when these are both at max levels. There is no room to breathe.
Anxiety will run high, and we will act like a wild animal who’s been cornered.
Life at this point is no longer fun because all this overwhelmingness is stealing your joy. Joy was what you were seeking when you started this journey. But to achieve Joy you need balance.

Time verse pace

We need breathing room!

“You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and trust in you.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ ‭GNTD

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

This week, create more space for breathing room by eliminating and or reducing items that are stealing your Joy.

Oh, how we want to hit the target!

But to hit it, you need some basic instructions.

First, you need to know your target. If you don’t have an initial target, there is no way to measure inconsistency?
Next, take aim.
To hit the target every time, you need to practice and hone your skill, which makes you more accurate.

Being with God should be your target. Heaven is what you should be aiming at. Studying,learning and applying the Bible is what you should be practicing.

For I hate the thought of anyone being separated from God.

“This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,”

This week,fix your aim at things that build up the Kingdom of God and pray for the hearts of the nonbelievers, that the scales will be removed from their eyes. May they come to the realization that Jesus died for their sins and learn to follow the One True God.

Whose team are you on?

Would you pick you for your team.

God has chosen you.

Time to do your part!

Teams are able to accomplish more than just a single individual if they work together. As a follower of Christ, you are part of a team, so you must do your part. If the right side of the line on a football team decides to not block the opponent. The quarterback will be sacked for a loss. By this example you can see that it is important to work together. Similarly, we must work with each other to uphold and live by Jesus’s teachings.

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”
