Sharing Loads of God's Love! Helping women help themselves since 2004. For some women, The River is a stepping stone to self-sufficiency.

Serving women and children in our community through a variety of services and the practice of radical hospitality. Since opening our doors on October 4, 2004, The River has served over 1,000 women and children in need. Many are without support networks and are at severe risk of falling between the cracks into greater poverty, homelessness, and desperation. The River has several core programs developed to meet the basic and supportive needs of the women and children we serve. For most women, The River assists in meeting basic needs on a daily basis. Guests value The River for its comprehensive and unique programs and for the compassionate and respectful manner in which they are offered. We believe that every woman has gifts and strengths that she can build on to be successful. It is our hope that The River can bring new life!

Grab bag BINGO has begun!

Come have some Halloween fun at The River today. Karaoke, Zombie Eye Toss, Treat Bags, Grab-Bag Bingo at 1 pm, and if you beat Stacy, the International World Champion at Connect Four, you get a full-size candy bar! We will be awarding a $50 Food City Gift Card to the best costume by the end of the day. Happy Halloween!

This is the last week that we're celebrating The River with AMS CARES, but be sure to catch their logo on our shirts all year long. 💙Another year-round program is The River's Diaper Days, always the first Wednesday and the third Wednesday of each month. They work with infants and toddlers up to the age of 3 with 28 diapers and a bag of wipes each diaper day. Currently, there are 318 children enrolled, they distribute almost 12,000 diapers a month, and have provided 780,000 diapers since 2013. We're so blessed to have this wonderful organization that works this hard to support our community! 💙 Please share with any new parents that to register, they just have to come by First Presbyterian on a Diaper day and complete the application.
