Big headed ants can be a BIG problem in homes, and businesses. Depending on the type, colonies can number in the thousands to millions!!

They’re dimorphic (two sizes) and the major soldier can be identified by their proportionately large head to body ratio. The minor workers are smaller, and often confused with other ant species.

They can be troublesome as they routinely like to nest adjacent to a foundation, and enter homes by burrowing. They’ll often leave small mounds of dirt by baseboards, which customers often confuse with termites.

Inspecting and treating accessible attic spaces is part and parcel of being a pest control expert. There isn’t an excuse to not inspect if you can maneuver in the attic.

I’ve worked with far too many who adopted the “let’s not and say I did” attitude when it comes to attics—-crawl spaces too!

With steadier, warming weather, insects will become more aggressive with their foraging patterns.
This means an uptick in activity around, and potentially inside your home, or business.

One of the more common invasive species is the ghost ant. Very small, loves carbohydrates (sugars), and sometimes proteins depending on the time of year.

I’d love the opportunity to protect, and prevent this invasive insect, and others from gaining access.

The Florida carpenter ant can be troublesome. They primarily forage at night, and nest in any type of compromised wood material—-think wet, soft, and perfect for excavating. They do NOT eat cellulose!

The good news is my agreements include these extra annoying pests. No extra charge—even if I have to come out in the evening and track them down.

Bedbugs can happen to anyone. It’s misfortune. Bad luck. Nothing to do with cleanliness, either.

I offer a conventional solution via mechanical removal, and treating with proven products.

Pics from a recent infestation I treated.

Bedbugs mature through stages (instars) before they reach adulthood. They also need a blood meal each stage in order to mature. Ewwww!

American roaches can be a big problem. If you’re seeing more than one or two dead in an area, or droppings (see pic) confined to a small area, it’s a good indication that there’s a larger hidden issue, and most likely, an area where moisture is accumulating.

Some solutions are mechanical: sealing around the base of a toilet, repairing a leaking pipe, or roof, or sealing old water supply lines that were never capped off.

Big headed ants can be a BIG nuisance. They’re dimorphic meaning they’re two sizes. They’re named after the major worker who sports a very large head disproportionate to its body. They are also multi-queened colonies

The smaller minor workers carry the brunt of the colony load under the direction of the major worker.

They create issues because their colonies are extremely large, and frequently connected over large areas. Nesting sites range from building foundations, under bricks/pavers, around tree trunks/knuckles plus other sites. They’ll even nest high up in trees!

My quarterly pest control program is the best solution.
