The clear signs your gutters need cleaning: ⬇️
〰️ Water spilling over the sides: During rain, gutters should direct water smoothly toward the downspouts. If you see water pouring over the edge, debris is likely blocking the flow.
〰️ Plants or weeds growing in the gutters: If you see grass, weeds, or moss, your gutters are holding enough dirt and moisture to support growth… meaning they’re definitely full!
〰️ Sagging or pulling away from the house: Heavy debris and trapped water add weight. If gutters start to bow or pull away from the fascia, they may be overloaded.
〰️ Water pooling near your foundation: Clogged gutters often push water over the edge and down the side of the house, causing puddles near the foundation.
〰️ Staining on siding or exterior walls: Overflowing gutters can leave dark streaks or water stains along siding or brick.
〰️ Birds, bugs, or pests hanging around: Debris-filled gutters create a perfect nesting spot for mosquitoes, birds, rodents, and insects.
〰️ Downspouts not draining properly: If water trickles slowly or not at all out of the downspouts during rain, there’s likely a blockage somewhere in the system.
〰️ You can see leaves from the ground: Sometimes the simplest sign is the obvious one—leaves sticking up over the edge of the gutter.
🍂 Pro tip: Most homes need gutter cleaning at least twice a year (spring and fall), and more often if there are trees nearby. Give us a call, we’d love to come out and get yours cleaned up!
