After water damage, drying the structure properly is just as important as removing the water itself.

One of the ways we do that is by carefully removing the baseboards. This gives us access to the bottom of the wall where moisture often collects and allows us to create small drying access holes behind the trim. Those openings increase airflow inside the wall cavity, helping moisture escape so the walls can dry more efficiently.

You may also notice the green tape throughout the photos. That's how we document and let the Crew in Blue know where moisture was found. We also label both the wall and the corresponding baseboard so each piece can be matched back to its original location during reconstruction. It's a simple step that helps keep the project organized from mitigation through the rebuilding process.

The little details matter. Taking the time to document, label, and dry a structure correctly helps ensure a smoother restoration and a better result for our customers.

Steamatic handles Water, Fire, Mold, and much more, but what about your favorite sweatshirt that was affected by a fire or other disaster?

Before any restoration work begins, our team carefully documents the contents of the property. We photograph each item and create a detailed inventory to help keep everything organized throughout the restoration process and to provide accurate documentation for the insurance claim.

Furniture, electronics, antiques, and other fragile or valuable belongings are professionally wrapped and protected to help prevent scratches, dust, and additional damage while they're in our care. Once packed, the contents are transported to our secure facility, where each item is evaluated. Depending on the extent of the damage and the customer's wishes, we'll either professionally clean and restore the item or dispose of it if it can't be saved.

We know these aren't just "contents"—they're your belongings, your memories, and pieces of your home. That's why we handle every item with the same care and attention we'd want for our own.

One of the most common misconceptions after a fire is that everything can and will be cleaned.

Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Materials like insulation can trap smoke particles and odors deep within the fibers, making replacement the best solution for a successful restoration.

Our crew carefully removes the affected insulation while wearing protective suits to stay clean and protected from fiberglass and overhead debris. Everything is loaded into our on-site dump trailer, and once it's full, we take care of hauling it away! One less thing our customers have to worry about.

It's not the most glamorous part of the job, but it's one of the most important. Every step we take is focused on giving our customers a clean, healthy space to rebuild.

Homeowners typically don't expect to find something like this behind a wall or inside a bathroom. The truth is that moisture can stick around long after a leak appears to be gone. That's why it's so important to address water damage completely, not just dry what you can see.

If you've had a leak, flooding, or recurring moisture in your home, it's worth making sure everything is truly dry. A little attention today can help prevent much larger repairs tomorrow. The Crew in Blue is always ready to perform a moisture inspection at your property to ease minds and ensure no stone is left unturned!

When water finds its way into your home, it doesn't just sit on the surface: It soaks into drywall, wood, flooring, and other building materials. That's why drying takes more than just setting up a fan.

Our air movers keep air circulating across wet surfaces, helping the trapped moisture evaporate. As that moisture enters the air, our dehumidifiers pull it back out, preventing it from settling into other areas of your home.

Together, these machines create a continuous drying cycle that removes moisture from both the building materials and the air. This helps your property dry more efficiently, reduces the risk of additional damage, and creates the dry conditions needed before repairs and reconstruction can begin.

Restoration isn't about tearing everything apart, it's about knowing exactly what needs to be removed. Our technicians carefully mark each cut with a chalk line before making precise openings that only removes the materials necessary to restore your property. These clean, intentional cuts help protect the rest of your property and provide a solid foundation for reconstruction. It's all part of our commitment to craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail.

Not all damage is visible!
During mold remediation, the disturbance of mold can release microscopic mold spores into the air. That's why the Crew in Blue utilizes professional air scrubbers equipped with HEPA filtration to help capture airborne particles including mold spores, dust, and other contaminants within the work area.
Air scrubbers are an important part of the restoration process, helping improve air quality in the contained work area and reducing the spread of airborne contaminants while the job is underway. It's one more way we work to restore your property safely and thoroughly.

Not all heroes wear capes, some carry sprayers.

During the remediation process, our technicians apply a specialized antimicrobial that helps destroy mold and bacteria on affected surfaces. This important step helps reduce contamination and supports a safer, healthier space after water damage or mold growth.

Mold may be stubborn, but we're more stubborn.
