It’s always powerful when someone who once walked the halls of Weatherford College comes back home after impacting people around the world… and reminds us what really matters. 💜🦁
Today, the Lions Club had the honor of hearing from Dr. Nick Michels, author of Rich by Choice — a Granbury native whose message went far beyond finances.
What I appreciated most was that he didn’t stand up there pretending money fixes everything. In fact, he challenged the very idea that success is only measured by wealth. He talked about purpose, peace, relationships, legacy, and understanding what truly creates joy in life.
Honestly, it footstomped something many of us in Lions already believe:
People need people.
Neighbors matter.
And every person you meet is carrying something you may never see on the surface.
Dr. Michaels reminded us that being “rich” isn’t just about what’s in your bank account… it’s about the ripple effect your life leaves on others.
And I think that’s why his story resonates so deeply. A young man from Granbury… a student from Weatherford College… who went out into the world, succeeded globally, and still came back with a message centered on people, purpose, and helping others live better lives.
That’s the kind of success worth talking about. 🦁
