Welcome to Comanche Trails RV Park. Located at 202 W. Wrights Ave, Comanche TX, 76442.
Comanche is uniquely located between two vegetation areas of Texas. The Post Oak Savannah region is north of town with a sandy and sandy long type soil. As you may have guessed, it is scattered with Post Oaks and Blackjack Oaks with the true tall grass prairie association of Little Blue Stem, Indian grass and Switch grass as the under story vegetation. The Crosstimbers and Prairies region is South of town with dark clay loan soils. Live oak's farming the gate way to the Texas Hill Country. The historical Fleming Live Oak sets on the Historic downtown square and there is a large amount of Western and Indian history in the area. With an excellent food source from the oaks, as well as from others plants and natural cover, the area is abundant with wild life. Hunting is excellent as well as fishing as Lake Proctor, approximately 9 miles from town. There is an 18 hole golf course next to the lake. Bird watching is great around the lake as well.
Comanche has a beautiful city park with a public pool and many play areas. Each year Comanche County puts on the Comanche Pow Wow, the 4th weekend in September! With a state BBQ cook off, classic car show, antique tractor show, and Sahawe Dancers! Many live reenactments, great vendors booths, and amazing food!
We have numerous restaurants, county hospital, airport, GREAT library and museum! There is a saying on the water tower that sums up Comanche, "Country living at its best!" And I completely agree!
