So, when looking up "National Days" on the calendar for July 2026, for July 19th, there are 3! National Ice Cream Day, National Play Day, and National Daiquiri Day. So which comes first, second and third?
How does this relate to bugs? Well, ice cream can attract flies, ants, yellow jackets, wasps, cockroaches, honey bees, fruit flies, and beetles. WOW... need to watch the ice cream!
Playing OUTSIDE - make sure you have insect repellant on for mosquitoes, fleas, ticks and chiggers.
Daiquiris - Pretty close to Ice Cream. Yellow jackets, fruit flies, house flies, honey bees, ants and beetles.
So, no matter what order you go with, make sure you are thinking about how to protect yourself and your food and drinks from pests! Keep a cover over your glass and properly dispose of left over food and containers when done.
Most of all, HAVE FUN! We know its hot out there so stay hydrated!
