A small tip for keeping your garbage can fresher between cleanings: watch out for liquid at the bottom of the bag.

If something is wet or messy, drain it first and tie the bag well. It takes a few seconds and can spare your nose later! 😄🗑️

Ever rinse out your garbage can, put it back, and wonder why it still smells?

A hose can wash away loose mess, but residue can stick around inside the can, around the rim, and under the lid. That’s why a can will look fine from the outside but the inside is a mess!

Weber County, one quick story before the weekend.

Our owner got out of the military, came home to Davis County, and wanted to build something useful. One day he went to take the trash out, looked down into his own can, and thought somebody should really do something about that.

That was the whole plan. One gross garbage can and an idea that sounded a little silly until it wasn't.

Now there are hundreds of neighbors across Weber and Davis who never have to think about their cans again, and we're grateful for every one of them.

Weber County, here's one we get asked all the time.

Common question: does it really kill germs, or does it just smell nice?

It does both, and the order matters a lot. Hot water goes first and breaks up everything stuck to the can. Once cleaned we dry it, which is the step we used to skip until we figured out that disinfectant on a wet get's diluted. Once the can is dry, our disinfectant goes on and kills 99.9 percent of bacteria. The peppermint is the very last step, and it's there to keep the bugs from getting curious again.

Common question: why don't you clean on trash day?

We tried it, and here's what happened. Some streets don't get collected until late in the afternoon, so we'd still be out there washing cans when the sun was going down. The only way to finish was to hurry, and a can that gets hurried is a can that doesn't really get clean.

So now we come the next day and start early in the morning. You leave your can on the curb after it's been collected, we show up with plenty of daylight, and your can gets all the time it needs.

Hey Davis County! Quick one about how cleaning day actually works.

Most common question we get: do I need to be home?

Nope. Most of our clients are at work when we pull up and never even see us.

Here's how it goes. Leave your cans on the curb after the garbage truck has come through. We come by the next day with our own water and our own equipment. The dirty water from inside the can gets captured and hauled off with us. We rinse the outside too, so there might be a little water left on the curb, and that's the whole mess.

Cans go back by your garage. You get a text when we're done.
