Today’s message is simple: THINK AT THE SINK! 🚰🧠

What goes down your kitchen sink doesn’t magically disappear. If you have a septic system, it heads straight to your septic tank, and some things can create BIG problems.

🍳 Keep these OUT of your sink:

* Grease, fats & cooking oils
* Coffee grounds
* Food scraps
* Harsh chemicals, paints & solvents
* Medications
* Basically anything your septic bacteria didn’t order for dinner 😝

Your septic system relies on a healthy biological process to break down waste. Protecting that process starts with what you put down the drain.

And remember, your garbage disposal is NOT a trash can. Grinding food into tiny pieces doesn’t make it disappear. Those solids still end up in your septic tank and can increase how quickly sludge accumulates.

👑 Pumper Princess Tip: Scrape those plates into the trash or compost first, then wash!

A little septic education today can save you from a whole lot of 💩 tomorrow.

💩📚 IT’S SEPTICSMART WEEK! 📚💩

September 14–18 is EPA SepticSmart Week, a national educational week dedicated to something we’re pretty passionate about around here: helping people understand their septic systems!

Because septic isn’t just about pumping a tank when it’s full. Your septic system is an important part of your home, your property, and protecting our groundwater and environment. 🌎💧

All week long, Turner Septic will be talking 💩 and sharing tips about proper maintenance, pumping, inspections, protecting your leach field, what NOT to flush, and the little things homeowners can do to help their systems live a long, happy life.

One of the biggest things we preach? Education BEFORE there’s an emergency. Knowing where your system is, understanding how it works, and maintaining it properly can save you from some very expensive surprises.

Let’s talk LEACH FIELDS! 💩

You flush the toilet and everything disappears… but where does it actually go? 👀

A traditional stone & pipe leach field may be underground and out of sight, but it has one BIG job to do!

Here’s the 💩 journey:

➡️ Wastewater leaves your septic tank and travels to the distribution box (D-box).
➡️ The D-box evenly distributes the wastewater into multiple perforated pipes.
➡️ The wastewater exits through holes in the pipes and flows into the clean stone surrounding them.
➡️ From there, it slowly percolates into the native soil where Mother Nature helps finish the treatment process. 🌱

And THIS is exactly why we’re always preaching about pumping your septic tank! 📣 Your tank’s job is to keep those solids OUT of your leach field. Once solids start making their way into the stone and soil, you can clog the field and turn a routine maintenance bill into a much bigger 💰💰💰 problem.

Your leach field is basically the quiet employee of your septic system. You rarely see it, you probably never thank it, but you REALLY notice when it stops doing its job. 😂

Protect it. Don’t drive over it. Don’t build over it. Don’t plant trees on it. And pump that tank every 2–3 years based on your household and system needs.

🤣💩 DOES THE PUMPER PRINCESS STILL PUMP TANKS?!

You bet your sweet septic tank I do. 👑💩

These days, you’ll find me mostly performing septic inspections and running Turner Septic, which means a lot more reports, phone calls, problem solving, scheduling, educating, and general CEO chaos.

BUT every now and then…

👑 The Pumper Princess climbs back into the pump truck.
🎶 The playlist gets turned ALL the way up.
🕶️ The shades go on.
💩 And your girl starts MOVIN’ POO!

And I freaking LOVE IT.

There’s something about being out there by myself, jammin’ my tunes, dragging hose, pumping tanks, and remembering exactly where this whole crazy Turner Septic adventure started.

I may be the boss lady now, but I’ll never be too bougie to move some sewage. 😂💅💩
