What you’re watching isn’t a sewer replacement—it’s a complete pipe rehabilitation using the HammerHead Bluelight LED CIPP system.

As the blue curing head travels back through the liner, it transforms a damaged, root-infested pipe into a seamless, structural pipe within the existing line. No digging up yards. No tearing up driveways. No major disruption.

💡 The blue light activates the resin and rapidly cures the liner in place, creating a jointless pipe designed to eliminate root intrusion, seal leaking joints, and extend the life of aging sewer infrastructure.

This is how old pipes become new pipes—without replacing them.

✅ Minimal excavation
✅ Fast installation
✅ Long-term solution
✅ Restore existing sewer lines without major property damage

If you’ve been told your sewer line needs to be dug up, replaced, or you’re dealing with recurring backups, roots, or broken piping, give us a call before you commit to excavation. We may be able to save your yard, driveway, landscaping, and thousands in restoration costs with a trenchless solution.

What you’re seeing in this video is the complete transformation of an aging sewer line.

The first clips show the old house trap after it was exposed and removed. This trap was buried beneath an old concrete stairway and was part of a sewer system that had experienced root intrusion through pipe joints over the years with no usable access to the caps.

The homeowner happened to be a contractor and had already removed the stairs and exposed the trap before we arrived. To be honest, when we pulled up and saw everything opened up and ready to go, we thought we were at the wrong house. 😂

Next, you’ll see the CIPP liner being installed into the existing sewer line. After thorough cleaning and preparation, the liner is inverted into the pipe and positioned to rehabilitate the sewer from the access point toward the street.

The final clips show the finished product — a smooth, continuous structural liner creating a new pipe inside the old one. The result is a rehabilitated sewer line with the joints sealed, roots locked out, and flow restored.

✅ Old house trap removed
✅ Roots sealed out
✅ Joints eliminated
✅ New cleanout installed
✅ Minimal excavation required
✅ Long-term trenchless solution

Most homeowners don’t realize recurring roots and backups don’t always mean replacing the entire sewer line. In many cases, trenchless rehabilitation can restore the pipe while avoiding major excavation, saving time, disruption, and often thousands in restoration costs.

Wet-out is one of the most critical steps in any CIPP installation.

Before a liner ever enters a pipe, the resin must be thoroughly and evenly saturated throughout the entire liner. A proper wet-out ensures the liner cures correctly, achieves its designed strength, and creates a long-lasting structural pipe within a pipe.

Just as important is the preparation work beforehand. Cleaning, descaling, root removal, and detailed inspections allow the liner to bond and perform as intended. Even the best liner system can only be as good as the preparation that comes before it.

At Professional Drain Services of Southern New England, we don’t cut corners. From preparation and wet-out to installation and curing with the HammerHead Bluelight UV system, every step matters.

Because a trenchless repair isn’t just about installing a liner—it’s about delivering a repair that’s built to last.

What you’re seeing here is a HammerHead Bluelight UV LED curing system in action.

After the liner is installed inside the existing pipe, the UV light train is pulled back through the liner at a controlled speed. As it travels, the light activates the resin, transforming the liner into a new structural pipe inside the old one.

✅ Seals root intrusion points
✅ Eliminates leaking joints
✅ Restores flow capacity
✅ Creates a corrosion-resistant pipe within the existing pipe
✅ Minimal excavation compared to traditional replacement

This particular installation was completed by accessing the line from outside and rehabilitating the existing sewer without extensive digging or disruption.

Many sewer problems aren’t caused by a complete collapse—they’re caused by aging joints, root intrusion, cracks, and deterioration. Trenchless CIPP technology allows us to rehabilitate those pipes while avoiding major excavation whenever conditions allow.

This clip shows our customized Picote Super Midi cleaning and preparing 4” cast iron piping prior to a trenchless CIPP installation.

When you use a machine this much, customizing it just kind of happens… and when it’s one of the best tools in the industry, it deserves a little personality anyway. 😂

The prep work is one of the most important parts of the entire rehabilitation process. Before a liner can be installed properly, the existing pipe needs to be thoroughly cleaned and restored as much as possible.

Using high-speed milling with specialized chains and tooling, the Picote allows us to remove heavy scale buildup, corrosion, offsets, roots, and debris from the interior walls of the pipe. This helps restore flow and creates the proper conditions for a successful CIPP installation.

A properly prepared pipe helps improve liner installation quality, adhesion, and the overall long-term performance of the rehabilitation.

For this project, we replaced the failed sewer piping from the cesspool to just outside the home, then utilized that trench and access point to install (2) HammerHead Trenchless BlueLight CIPP liners into the existing 4” cast iron piping running back into the home.

To perform the installation, we set up a temporary launch section from the inversion drum into the access piping, allowing the liner to be inverted smoothly into the existing sewer line before curing with the HammerHead BlueLight system.

This approach allowed us to fully rehabilitate all of the 4” sewer piping from the home to the septic tank while avoiding major demolition to the customer’s deck and porch area. The end result is a seamless structural pipe installed inside the existing line with minimal disruption to the property.

Modern trenchless technology. Cleaner installs. Long-term solutions.

🚨 Major Sewer Backup at a Commercial Building in East Providence🚨

When sewer lines are neglected for too long, backups like this can happen fast — flooding basements, disrupting businesses, creating hazardous conditions, and leading to costly cleanup and repairs.

A large percentage of sewer piping throughout Rhode Island and Eastern Connecticut is aging cast iron, clay, Orangeburg, or deteriorated underground piping that is well past its intended service life. Many systems continue to function until a major blockage, collapse, root intrusion, or backup finally occurs.

Routine maintenance, inspections, hydro jetting, and proactive rehabilitation can help identify issues before they turn into emergencies.

At Professional Drain Services of Southern New England, LLC, we specialize in:
• Emergency sewer backups
• Commercial drain cleaning
• Hydro jetting & camera inspections
• Trenchless sewer rehabilitation (CIPP/BIPP)
• Excavation & sewer replacements

Protect your property before a backup becomes a disaster.

Serving Rhode Island & Eastern Connecticut.

Raw sewage backing up onto the floor is usually a sign the main sewer line is blocked and needs immediate attention. In this case, we arrived to diagnose the issue, clear the blockage, and get the system flowing again before more damage occurred.

Many backups are caused by roots, grease buildup, wipes, collapsed piping, or aging cast iron and clay sewer lines. A proper inspection and cleaning is critical to determine the real condition of the line — not just temporarily restore flow.

At Professional Drain Services of Southern New England, LLC we handle everything from emergency drain cleaning to full trenchless sewer rehabilitation throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Another successful trenchless sewer rehabilitation completed in Westerly.

This sewer line was heavily impacted by root intrusion and deteriorating joints throughout the existing piping. There was already an existing access pit at the house trap location, which we opened further to remove the trap, prepare the piping, install the CIPP liner, and install a new cleanout for future access.

Our team cleaned and prepared approximately 50 feet of existing sewer piping before installing a full CIPP trenchless liner from the access area, under the sidewalk and road, and to the city connection — sealing joints and fully rehabilitating the existing line with minimal excavation.

✔ Heavy root removal & pipe preparation
✔ House trap removal
✔ New cleanout installation
✔ CIPP trenchless liner installation
✔ Minimal excavation & disruption
✔ Backfilled, compacted, and fully cleaned up upon completion

The result is a fully restored sewer line without the need for major trenching or tearing apart the property.
