We celebrate George Andrin, a living legend in these parts. George was a founding member of Blue Ridge Mountain Trout Unlimited and a wealth of information on fishing these mountains.
George served as a Seabee during WWII and continued to serve his community following moving to the Blue Ridge area.
He WAS THE MAN before the phrase was ever used. His daughter Becky and husband David Hulsey continue in Georges footsteps making our cold water resources a priority and assuring future generations will enjoy them just as much as Pops did.
Thank you George for all you did and be assured that your legend lives on.

WARNING!! Water temperatures reached 71.4 degrees this morning in the shade on the Upper Toccoa. When water levels are low and at these temperatures the oxygen levels are greatly depleted and trout are stressed.
Please if you must fish go early, to higher elevations or on the tail waters.
Give our cold water resources a chance to survive.

We have a vision: Conservationists and communities of people who fish and people who simply love their waters, all hard at work—pulling out dams, reconnecting rivers, educating the public, changing policy—united behind a vision of healthy fish and waters.

It will take all of us to get there. We all have a part to play. A tree planted, a stream cleaned up, a letter sent to a decision-maker, a water sample collected, a dollar raised—it all adds up to impact our area cold water resources.

Number 6 has been installed at Horseshoe Bend and mono and hooks have been removed from all to date.
The first two new monofilament, hook and lead receptors have been been installed at Sandy Bottoms and the Toccoa River Dial.
As part of the chapters conservation efforts to keep unwanted materials out of our local waterways.
Additional receptors will be placed at Deep Hole, Curtis Switch, Horseshoe Bend, McCayesville Park, Rock and Coopers Creek.
Our first receptor placed at Tammen Park continues to get regular use.
