New Jersey Detailing for Heroes Event to Honor Oradell Police Officer Frank Stefano Following Life-Saving Heroics
ROCHELLE PARK, NJ — May 2026 — Dirty Harry’s Detailing and Finer Details are proud to announce that Officer Frank Stefano of the Oradell Police Department has been selected as the honored recipient for the upcoming New Jersey Detailing for Heroes Event, taking place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Alternative Car Storage, 43 Woodland Avenue, Rochelle Park.
Officer Stefano recently demonstrated extraordinary courage and professionalism when he helped save the life of a fellow hockey player during a medical emergency at the Ice House in Hackensack.
While preparing for an adult league hockey game on April 22, a 53-year-old goalie suffered cardiac arrest during warmups. Without hesitation, Officer Stefano immediately responded and began life-saving efforts, administering CPR while coordinating emergency assistance. Utilizing a portable AED, Stefano delivered life-saving shocks until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene.
Stefano was assisted by his wife, Catherine, a medical assistant with The Valley Hospital, who immediately called 911 and helped coordinate emergency care during the incident. According to reports, the goalie was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and is now recovering.
“Officer Frank Stefano represents the very definition of service above self,” said Harry Sandwith, owner of Dirty Harry’s Detailing and co-host of the event. “Whether wearing the badge or lacing up skates after work, heroes never stop serving others. We are honored to recognize Officer Stefano for his bravery, quick thinking, and selfless actions that unquestionably helped save a life.”
The New Jersey Detailing for Heroes Event is a community-driven effort hosted by Dirty Harry’s Detailing and Finer Details to recognize deserving first responders and local heroes through appreciation, service, and support from the automotive detailing and motorcycle communities.
Event organizers would like to extend a special thank you to Fred Topinka and Alternative Car Storage for generously providing the facility and helping make this event possible.
