These warm days have had all the insects on the move. So we want to take a second and share a little about some the insects you are seeing.
Clover Mites- They are little red bugs everyone is seeing on their patios on the sunny side of the house. They are just eating plant sap and are harmless to pets ans humans. These are not chiggers. They do leave red stain if you smash them.
Crane Flys- Also known as a "mosquito hawk". These are not giant mosquitos here to invade. They are harmless to humans and pets. The adults don't live long, mate, and pass. Their larvae are the issue especially if you have turf grass. The larvae eat leaf debris and turf grass roots. This isnt normally an issue. Most healthy grass can handle the munching with no issues. With the drought causing grass to struggle right now, you might notice some more damage than normal.
We can assist you with both of these issues with no problems or harm to you or your pets.
