Hard day in the bush — even harder getting Anton to crack a smile for the photo 📸🌿

Out here doing cut-and-paste on Japanese walnut through existing native bush. It’s slow, hands-on work, but it matters — pest plants like this outcompete natives, block light, and take over regeneration. If you don’t deal with them early, they dominate the canopy and you lose biodiversity.

Work like this keeps the bush healthy, protects what’s already there, and gives native species the chance to thrive for the long term

As the seasons start to shift, so does our focus 🌱

We’re doing the behind-the-scenes work now — with our native plants growing steadily and putting on strong, healthy growth as we move closer to winter.

This preparation is what sets them up for successful establishment once planting season begins. Cooler months, stronger roots, better long-term outcomes.

If you’re planning native planting this winter, get in touch with us for enquiries.

Not afraid to get stuck in. 🌿💦

We’re right in the thick of our pest plant work, and this is Elli doing exactly that — knee-deep tackling willow and honeysuckle control.

No shortcuts, no standing back. Just a team that gets stuck in and gets the job done properly.

If you’re after a crew that isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty, get in touch.

🌿 Summer in Full Swing 🌿

The mānuka is blooming and we’ve been busy out on sites — release spraying, checking bait stations, and keeping on top of pest control through the warm weather.

Thanks so much for all the support this year.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season.

If you need planting, pest control, or fencing work in the new year, flick us a message.

Looking ahead, we’re shifting our focus to pest control work over the summer and warmer months, along with site preparation for next season’s planting.

If you’ve got a project in mind — big or small — and need a hand, get in touch. We’ve got options to suit everyone and we’d love to help make your vision happen.

Before any native planting goes in the ground, getting your site prep right is key. Here’s how we’re doing it on one of our current jobs in collaboration with ALFA Trust 👏

🌱 Choosing the Right Spacing
We’re using 2-metre spacing between plants. It gives each seedling space to grow strong, while making maintenance like releasing way easier down the line.

🎯 Targeted W**d Control
Instead of blanket spraying the whole site, we’re spot spraying only where planting will happen. Less chemical, less impact, more control.

🧪 Spray Selection
We’re using a mix of glyphosate and brush killer to tackle tough weeds like kikuyu and blackberry—these guys are notorious for smothering young natives if left alone.

⏳ Timing It Right
Spot spraying is done at least 4 weeks before planting, giving the spray time to work and letting us catch any regrowth before planting begins.

✔️ Why It Matters
Good prep = better planting outcomes. Fewer weeds, better survival rates, and way less stress later on.

Site prep might not be the flashiest part of the job—but it’s where success starts
