Project Flashback | A smarter approach to pool repairs

This was our second-to-last job before lockdown - a vinyl liner pool that needed some significant repairs to the base.

As part of the work, we installed a new concrete floor along with a new track system for the liner.

The clever part? When the liner eventually needs replacing again, the new system will make the job much simpler, without needing to remove and replace the bullnose pavers.

Sometimes a good pool repair isn’t just about fixing the problem in front of you. It’s about making future maintenance easier too.

Your pool shouldn’t need a top-up every five minutes.

Okay, slight exaggeration… but if you’re regularly adding water 💦 it’s worth finding out why.

Pump. Filter. Heating. Chlorination. Plumbing.

There’s quite a bit going on behind the scenes to keep a pool running properly.

If something isn’t performing as it should, we can investigate the problem and advise whether it can be repaired or whether an upgrade makes more sense.

And with the wider Poolside Christchurch team behind us, we have access to the equipment, parts and expertise needed to get things sorted.

The goal? A pool that works properly when you actually want to use it. Our philosophy is repair not replace where possible 💧

There are two times to discover your pool has a problem.

October, when there’s time to sort it out.

Or the first scorching Saturday of summer when the kids are standing there in their togs waiting to get in.

We vote October.

If your pool needs repairs, leak investigation or equipment attention, spring is a great time to get onto it.

Pools are pretty good at giving you clues when something isn’t right.

The water level keeps dropping.

The pump sounds different.

You notice a damp patch.

A crack appears.

The liner starts lifting or changing.

You’re using more chemicals than usual.

Sometimes these things are minor. Sometimes they’re the first sign of a problem that’s much easier to deal with now than later.

If something about your pool has you thinking, “That doesn’t seem right…” get us to take a look.
