On 27 July 2025, Komanda in Eastern DRC witnessed one of the region’s deadliest attacks.

During an all-night prayer vigil, militants from the ISIS-linked Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) killed 49 Christians including nine children and abducted around 20 others.

Eyewitnesses report that attackers looted the village before setting homes and shops on fire.

In the aftermath, the UN’s MONUSCO mission brought in bulldozers to dig a mass grave, where the victims were buried in simple coffins.

This tragedy comes just months after 70 believers were reportedly beheaded inside a church in Kasanga. Many survivors live in fear, carrying deep emotional scars as attacks continue.

Open Doors is working with local partners to bring trauma care, relief aid, and to call the global Church to action.

Please pray for the grieving, for protection over believers in Eastern DRC, and for an end to the violence.

Grounded in faith and perseverance, our nations can move from enduring trials to walking in renewal, restoration, and lasting transformation.

En Éthiopie, ce jeune homme raconte comment un ami fidèle lui a fait découvrir Dieu. Mais après avoir choisi d’embrasser la foi, sa famille l’a chassé de chez lui. Malgré les difficultés et les pertes subies, il reste inébranlable dans sa foi en Dieu.

Avec plus de 400 millions de jeunes âgés de 15 à 35 ans, l’Afrique possède la population la plus jeune au monde. Pourtant, beaucoup trop de jeunes croyants sont pris pour cible en raison de leur foi ou confrontés à de graves difficultés.
