Meet the faces behind the practice πŸ‘‹πŸ₯πŸ’™

At the heart of our independent practice are three directors, each bringing years of experience, passion and dedication to animal care across our community. Vanessa, Guy and Paul have proudly been directors of the practice since 2010.

🐾 Vanessa – Small Animal Director
Vanessa graduated from Dublin Vet College in 1998 and has worked in North Wales ever since, caring for pets and building long-standing relationships with clients across the local community.

πŸ„ Guy – Large Animal Director
As the son of a local dairy farmer, Guy has a real passion for the livestock industry and supporting the farming community in our local area.

🌍 Paul – Export Director
Born in Queensland, Australia, Paul grew up on a beef farm before studying at the University of Queensland, where he qualified as a vet in 1998.

As an independent veterinary practice, we are proud to be owned and run by three local people who genuinely care about our clients, patients and community. Being independent means we can focus on what matters most, providing personal, compassionate care for every animal we see, without corporate influence.

Thank you for continuing to support local, independent veterinary care πŸ’™

We are saddened to have to share the news that Paul Sharples passed away on the 17th March.

Paul graduated with Honours at Liverpool University in 1977. He was offered a position at Harrison & Partners in the Easter before graduation and began work later that year. Paul, along with Barry Dickens and Caerwyn Thomas established Daleside Vets in 1993, and worked hard to develop the business until his retirement in 2010. As well as a dedicated farm vet, Paul was responsible for the Meat Hygiene work at the practice. He had a nimble mind with figures, and no medicines company rep was safe when it came to negotiating a deal!

Away from the practice Paul was a keen football fan and closely followed the fortunes of his beloved Blackburn Rovers. He also enjoyed a good round of golf, and spending time with his family.

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to all his family.
