Yesterday we celebrated Gill Osment's retirement with a special party to thank her for an incredible 20 years with Antac. It was wonderful to see so many team members come together to wish Gill a happy retirement and thank her for the dedication, commitment and support she has given the business over the past two decades. During the celebration, Louise Burton shared heartfelt words of thanks on behalf of everyone at Antac, and especially Stephen Burton, recognising Gill's enormous contribution as the company has grown and evolved over the years.

Antac was recently appointed to carry out roof cleaning on a large building, which was undertaken by our Rope Access Team. Keeping roofs free from moss is essential to ensure rainwater drains away effectively and to protect the integrity of the roof. Moss thrives in damp, shaded areas and acts like a sponge, trapping moisture against roof tiles.
If left untreated, moss can lead to cracked tiles, frost damage, rotting roof timbers and blocked gutters, often resulting in costly repairs. Regular roof inspections and cleaning form an important part of any building maintenance strategy, helping to extend the life of the roof, reduce reactive maintenance costs and keep buildings safe, watertight and in good condition.

Last year marked our first year working with GreenTheUK to support the planting of 1000 trees in the UK. With the recent heatwaves reminding us of the challenges our environment faces, supporting the planting of a diverse range of climate-resilient tree species has never been more important. Diverse woodlands are better equipped to withstand rising temperatures, pests and disease, while providing vital habitats for wildlife and helping to protect biodiversity for future generations.

Congratulations to Neill Gouldie. Neill has received two well-deserved nominations. The first followed excellent customer feedback praising Neill's prompt response and completion of a work order. The second came from a member of the public who witnessed Neill's kindness on the M40. During stationary / slow-moving traffic on a very hot day, Neill safely offered a stranded motorist a bottle of water after their vehicle had broken down. A member of the public wrote to Antac, commending Neill for his thoughtfulness and describing him as a credit to the company.
Well done, Neill, your professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile are a great example of the values we strive for at Antac.

Happy Friday - Following Ray Dismore's retirement earlier this week after 30 years of dedicated service at Middle Wallop, we're delighted to share that he was also presented with the Commandant's Coin for Excellence in recognition of his outstanding commitment and long service. As if that wasn't enough, Ray also received our Employee of the Month award, making his final week with Antac a truly memorable one and a fitting way to end an exceptional career. Congratulations, Ray a thoroughly deserved recognition for everything you've contributed over the past three decades. We hope you're enjoying the start of your retirement and wish you all the very best.

Geoff Fox, Health & Safety Director visited Lyneham and treated the team to a pizza lunch by way of thanks for their comprehensive uptake of the new Vivo Safety Passport System. A main component being the signing in and out of the MOD sites associated with the Built Estate contract which the team have embraced and ensure they complete on a daily basis.

Geoff said, "I am really proud of the team and their achievements in this space, whenever a major step change like this is introduced, there is usually some teething problems while people get used to the change but the team at Lyneham have pushed through any such problem and implemented the system superbly!"

Ray Dismore will be retiring on 30 June 2026 after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service at AAC Middle Wallop. Employed as a Handyman, Ray is the last remaining original member of staff to have remained with the site through the various contract changes and TUPE transfers over the years. His commitment, experience and dedication have made him a valued member of the team, and he will be greatly missed.

Ray started working at Middle Wallop in 1995 & has seen many changes over the years including some of the original WW2 barrack blocks roofs being changed from flat to pitched roofs, the new airfield dispersal concrete being laid & the er****on of many new large buildings including SLAM blocks which house our miliary personnel in single living accommodation rooms.

Ray will be missed by many including fellow musician Duncan Parker a former Antac employee himself who now works for Vinci. He recalls Ray being in a local band called the Party Animals. Ray continues to play guitar as does Duncan so they get very anoraky sometimes comparing notes…. He continues to play in a local band called Innovator & even does a spot of backing vocals…in the pubs in Salisbury.

Some fond words were received from John Price, Ray’s former Manager. It is going to be a sad day at Wallop when Ray goes out of the gate on his last day. Ray really is the backbone of Wallop. Ray is the guy whom I came to rely on when I was Manager. He would always be there when the chips were down helping out in whatever way he could. There are so many stories I could tell about young Ray. But the one thing that springs to mind is his old cabin at the back of the yard and the piles of seemingly worthless, invaluable rubbish he kept in there, that somehow always got someone out of trouble when no one else but Ray could help. In particular there was an old ammo box he kept hidden away, and in that old box was almost every old key that had ever been used at Wallop. I have lost count of how many times Ray came to the rescue whenever anyone had managed to lose their keys or lock themselves out of their room. Ray really was The Knight in Shining Armour.

Myself, the team, the customers on site & all the people who have met Ray over the years who value his friendship; sincerely wish Ray a very Happy Retirement and all the very best for this future life with his family.

Armed Forces Week Spotlight: Cadet Force Adult Volunteer
Meet Jack Dawson from our Larkhill office, where he supports the MoD Housing contract as Commercial Administrator. Outside of work, Jack is making a big impact as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer (CFAV) with the Wiltshire Army Cadet Force. Through his role, Jack helps teach the next generation of cadets essential skills in military knowledge, fieldcraft, teamwork, and more. He’s completed his Adult Instructors Course (AIC) last July, which helps him further support and inspire young cadets. Jack says becoming an Adult Volunteer has been incredibly rewarding, and he recommends it to anyone looking to make a difference.

Armed Forces Week – Celebrating Our Veterans
As part of Armed Forces Week, we are proud to recognise the service and contribution of our veterans within the Antac team.
Leadville Parsons joined Antac as Health and Safety Manager, initially supporting our Ministry of Defence contract and working closely with our site teams. His military career spans 24 years of service in the British Army, bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, and professionalism to his role today.
Leadville enlisted in the Army in 1990 at the age of 16, beginning his career with the Junior Leaders Regiment Royal Corps of Transport. Following his training, he served with transport regiments in Tidworth and Colchester, developing his skills as a Driver and Transport Soldier before transferring to the Adjutant General’s Corps in 1996.
Throughout his career, Leadville served across a wide range of units and establishments, including Signals, Infantry, Logistics, Engineering, and Headquarters formations. His service took him on operational tours and overseas deployments to Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, the Falkland Islands, and Afghanistan, where he supported military operations in often demanding and challenging environments.
Rising through the ranks from Driver to Sergeant, Leadville gained extensive experience in administration, personnel support, training, and military operations. He also played a key role in supporting the Army-wide implementation of the Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) system as part of the JPA Tiger Team.
After completing 24 years of distinguished service, Leadville left the Army in 2014. The values instilled throughout his military career, integrity, commitment, adaptability, and leadership, continue to shape his approach to health and safety management and his contribution to the Antac team.
