Last month, Sara Jones had the privilege of joining the Disabled Veterans Scholarship Fund (DVSF) team at the Soldiering On Awards. As a company, Antac has sponsored a disabled veteran for the past five years, and it has been incredibly rewarding to hear how the team supports veterans in retraining and developing new skills after leaving the Army due to injury.

This year’s awards ceremony was particularly exciting, as the team had been nominated for an award, always adding an extra buzz to the occasion! There were many worthy nominees across all the categories, making it a wonderful celebration of the achievements and contributions of so many inspiring individuals and organisations.

We were delighted to see the DVSF win the Education, Training & Development Award in recognition of their fantastic work.

We hope this well-deserved recognition helps raise awareness of the valuable support they provide, helping veterans rebuild their careers and move forward with confidence.

A Fantastic Achievement at the Birkett Relay
Last weekend, Jonathan Candler competed in the 76th Birkett Relay, a six-hour endurance race held at Silverstone GP. Racing in some of the worst conditions he had ever experienced, Jonathan was joined by fellow drivers Jake, Kieron and Jamie, with the team securing an incredible 1st in class and 2nd overall out of 66 teams!
This outstanding result marks Army Sports Car Racing’s highest-ever finish at the event across all the years they have competed, making it a truly remarkable achievement for the whole team.
A huge congratulations to Jonathan and the team on an exceptional performance.

Antac has invested in six defibrillators for our offices in Aylesford, High Wycombe, Faringdon, Leeds, Aldershot and Bromsgrove.
Defibrillators are easy to use and can make a life-saving difference in an emergency. Let’s hope they are never needed, but if they are, having them readily available could help save a life.

Antac is proud to recognise Sean Beagley for his quick thinking and actions on 29th September. When a colleague experienced chest pains, Sean became concerned that he was showing signs of a heart attack and insisted that he be taken to hospital. Thanks to Sean’s swift response, his colleague received urgent medical attention.
In recognition of his actions, Geoff Fox presented Sean with a £250 voucher on behalf of Antac, acknowledging his awareness, initiative and the important role he played in ensuring his colleague received medical help.
Sean’s actions demonstrate the importance of looking out for one another and show how recognising the signs of a medical emergency and acting quickly can make all the difference.

Supporting the NHS
Antac was pleased to support Lauren Cook, a cardiac nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, who took on an incredible challenge on 26 September, abseiling down St Thomas' Hospital to raise funds for an NHS charity.
Lauren is Terry Cook’s daughter, and we were delighted to make a donation towards her fundraising, supporting the ongoing efforts to recover from COVID-19 pandemic and to support the remarkable NHS teams through health and wellbeing programmes.
A fantastic achievement and a great cause to support.

This week we raise the awareness of National Cadet Week. Jack works for our MoD Housing Division. And shares his experience.
“As a cadet, I was a shy and preserved individual. But through the years spent as a cadet and an adult volunteer (CFAV), it has helped bring me out my shell more! Previously, I would have been frightened at the thought of speaking in front of a group of individuals or being the one to take control of various situations, but with the experiences, lessons and support given to me throughout, I can and do this on a daily basis inside and out of cadets!

For example, recently in the first week of September, I had the opportunity to go to the Netherlands and participate in the remembrance of “Operation Market Garden” in the form of the Airbourne March (The largest one-day commemorative march in the world) where 15 CFAVs took 38 Cadets through 3 different countries and completed the 10Km march.

The opportunities provided alongside becoming a CFAV are like none-other too! You can earn qualifications in a range of activities from Management, First Aid (All free courses through the ACF), Shooting (KQUAL – Coaching on a live range, Short Range Course – The lead person running a 25m Range), Adventurous training (Kayaking instructor, Rock climbing instructors) and many more! I myself have been given the opportunity to go and attend my KQUAL in the upcoming weeks!

It’s been a busy week for Lionheart Racing! On Thursday, the team attended Army Sports Car Racing Day 2026 at Thruxton Race Circuit, where Geoff Fox had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Candler from Lionheart Racing. The event showcased the exciting world of motorsport to personnel across the British Army, highlighting the fantastic opportunities available through Army Motorsport.

And the action continues today, with Lionheart Racing at Silverstone for the British Touring Cars! Good luck, Lionheart Racing, we’ll be cheering you on!

Congratulations to Leadville Parsons, Health & Safety Manager, who has successfully completed his ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice. The qualification was officially awarded on 3 September 2026.

Leadville completed the qualification alongside his day-to-day role, with the programme taking just over a year to complete. Despite the demands of work and life along the way, he managed to submit his final unit shortly before undergoing recent surgery – making completion of the qualification an especially welcome achievement.

Leadville would like to thank Steve Mullan and Wayne Byles of SM Safety & Consultancy, his NVQ Assessors, for their support and guidance throughout the programme, along with Geoff Fox, Antac H&S Director, who acted as his mentor and provided invaluable advice and encouragement.

“It’s taken over a year and there have certainly been times when work and life got in the way, but I’m really chuffed to have finally got it over the line. A big thank you to Steve, Wayne and Geoff for all their help and support along the way.”

Well done Leadville on a fantastic achievement and another important step in your continued professional development.
