We've just spent the day rescheduling all the jobs for the second time this month, and MSDC have now released this information. Please bear with us whilst we await the outcome of this.

We’re aware of a data issue that is affecting bin collection dates on our website for some properties in the district.

Our team is working closely with partners to resolve this as quickly as possible.

We’re sorry for any confusion this may have caused and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue.

Just to advise customers, we are in the process of updating our rounds with the new collection dates from Mid Sussex District Council. We are emailing all customers with any updates to the cleaning day & frequency, so please keep an eye out for this in your inbox. We will be emailing some customers again with some more changes, as since publishing a new collection schedule online a few weeks ago, MSDC have updated it again. Please bear with us whilst we make these changes, as it's a big task.

We have been advised that due to the introduction of mandatory Tachograph breaks for the waste collection drivers (by Serco), most bin collection crews will now be starting up to 45 minutes later.

Dependant on how long the crew is working, they may have to stop for two 30 minute breaks during their shift. The resulting impact of this is your bins will likely be emptied a lot later (if at all), the waste collection crews will be even more unhappy with with finishing later, and we'll be trying our hardest to service all the bins within our usual timeframe, but will no doubt also be working a lot later.

Please remember to leave your bins out until cleaned, unless otherwise advised. At times we may have to postpone cleaning to the following day if we struggle to complete all the jobs, but will normally advise if this is the case.

Hopefully Serco will see how negatively this is impacting their staff after less than a week of being implemented, and make it optional rather than mandatory.

We have been made aware of a possible change to collection day in the Hurstpierpoint & Hassocks area, at present we don't know if this is affecting all properties, but we believe some collection days may be changing from a Monday to a Wednesday. We are due to clean bins in the area tomorrow, so if you have received a communication with a new collection day (for any area), please could you let us know via [email protected] - thank you

Just a reminder to our customers, we are operating our usual round this bank holiday Friday, as the bins will be emptied as usual by the council. Please remember to leave your bin out after emptying if it's due for cleaning. Have a great bank holiday weekend, we are closed bank holiday Monday as there are no rounds due that day.

Due to very icy conditions on a lot of side roads and housing estates, we are finding it difficult to get to everyone this week. Unfortunately the council are also struggling to collect on time in some areas too. We're hoping everything will have thawed out by next week, as the rest of this week looks to be a write off, apologies.

Bin Fairy Ltd will be closed on Monday 19th September to respect the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II. All affected customers have already been notified.

MDSC have subsequently made the decision to pause waste collections, more information below.

As a mark of respect and to allow those that wish to mourn the passing of the late HM Queen Elizabeth II all kerbside collections will be rearranged on Monday 19 September.

Those households due a collection of general rubbish, recycling, clinical or garden waste on this date will have their waste collected on Saturday 24 September and bins should be placed out for collection by 7am on this date.

A reminder to our customers, we will be closed between 25th & 29th August. Any affected rounds have been rescheduled and customers notified via email. We will endeavour to respond to any enquiries as quickly as possible when the office opens again on Tuesday 30th August. Have an enjoyable bank holiday weekend, we're having a much needed rest.
