Are you passionate about helping others and looking to start or develop your career in care?

At Wiltshire Support at Home, our First Responders play a vital role in supporting people to remain independent in their own homes. Working across the South of Wiltshire, you'll be the first point of contact for customers following hospital discharge or through our Urgent Rapid Response service.

💙 What does a First Responder do?
✅ Meet customers and complete their initial assessments
✅ Create bespoke, person-centred support plans focused on individual goals and outcomes
✅ Assess needs and identify the right support for each customer
✅ Support with personal care, meal preparation, and daily living activities when required
✅ Help customers regain confidence, independence, and wellbeing

📍 Location: South Wiltshire (Salisbury Hub)
⏰ Hours: 37 hours per week
💰 Salary: £27,254 - £28,598 per annum
➕ Plus 10% unsocial hours enhancement

🎉 Celebrating Five Years of Wiltshire Support at Home 🎉

Yesterday, our celebrations continued as our North & West teams came together to mark an incredible milestone – five years of Wiltshire Support at Home.

We were proud to recognise those dedicated team members who have been with us since the very beginning. Their commitment, passion, and hard work were honoured with five-year service certificates as a small token of our sincere appreciation.

Of course, no celebration would be complete without recognising the wider team. Colleagues who have not yet reached the five-year milestone were also presented with certificates in recognition of their valuable contributions. Every member of our team plays an important role in the difference we make each day.

It is thanks to our loyal, compassionate, and dedicated staff that Wiltshire Support at Home has grown into the service it is today, supporting people across our community to live well and independently at home.

We were also delighted to welcome Kerry and her baby to the celebration. Kerry played a key role in helping to establish Wiltshire Support at Home and has been instrumental in its success over the years.

Here's to everything we have achieved together so far, and to many more years of making a positive difference in people's lives!

☀️🚨 Red Hot Weather Alert: Stay Safe & Well 🚨☀️

With extreme heat conditions in place, it’s important we all take extra care to protect our health and wellbeing. 💙

For our customers:

🌡️ Keep your home cool – close curtains during peak heat
💧 Drink plenty of water regularly
🍽️ Eat light meals and avoid alcohol or excess caffeine
📞 Keep your phone nearby and charged
👀 Let us know if you feel unwell, dizzy, or overly tired

For our dedicated care staff:

🚗 Plan journeys carefully and take regular breaks
💧 Stay hydrated throughout your shift
🧴 Use sunscreen
☀️ Avoid prolonged time in direct sun where possible

📚 Moving & Handling Training – Keeping Safety First 📚

This week, Senior Support Workers Gemma and Catherine delivered our annual Moving and Handling refresher training to colleagues across Wiltshire Support at Home and Reablement.

Regular refresher training is essential to ensure our teams continue to use safe, effective techniques when supporting our customers.

These sessions help reinforce best practice, build confidence, and reduce the risk of injury, protecting both our staff and the people we support.

It was great to see such positive engagement and hands-on learning throughout the sessions 👏

A big thank you to Gemma and Catherine for sharing their expertise and supporting our teams to maintain the highest standards of care.

Last week, our South team came together to celebrate an incredible milestone – five years of Wiltshire Support at Home.

But we couldn’t celebrate without acknowledging all our staff. Those who haven’t yet reached the five-year mark were also presented with certificates in recognition of their valuable contributions so far. Every single member of our team plays a vital role in what we achieve each day.

Without our loyal, dedicated, and compassionate team, Wiltshire Support at Home would not be where it is today, making a real difference and delivering meaningful outcomes for our community.

Senior Support Worker Amy enjoyed the beautiful weather at Bourne Hill Gardens today while carrying out a supervision meeting with Ria. 💻 🌿

Supervisions are a key part of our service, providing dedicated time for reflection, support, and ongoing development. They help ensure we continue to deliver high-quality care while supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth.

Great to see flexible working in action in such a lovely setting! 🌼
