Warm, humid weather is here for a while longer.
While we love the not too sunny walkies, so do ticks!

Ticks are most active during warmer months and love hiding in tall grass and woodland trails.

When we load the dogs back into the car after a walk, we always give them a check over, but these tiny hitchhikers are experts at hiding in tricky spots (like between toes, behind ears, under collars, or along the belly)!

What if you find one later?

It's very common to spot a tick hours later while snuggling on the sofa! Don't panic if you do-it generally takes 24 to 48 hours for an attached tick to transmit diseases like Lyme disease, so finding and removing it promptly makes all the difference.

To make sure you're never caught unprepared without a removal tool, we have provided all of our regular weekly dog-walking clients with a tick remover tool to keep at home!🏠 🐶

Check regularly: Give your pup a quick feel-over after outdoor adventures.
Use a tick hook: Twist and pull gently-never squeeze or burn a tick!
Stay protected: Speak with your vet about routine flea/tick preventatives (like tablets or spot-ons) and ask if the Lyme disease vaccine is right for your dog.
