😡 HAS ANYONE ELSE LET THIS MAN NEAR THEIR CAR?! 😡

Booked him to clean my car. Honestly, I’m raging.

He turned up with more bottles than I’ve got in the kitchen and started foaming the car like it owed him money. Seemed friendly enough, so I left him to it.

Big mistake.

I came back outside and DIDN’T EVEN RECOGNISE IT.

I thought the paint was a dull grey. Turns out it’s black. The carpets weren’t supposed to be that colour. And the wheels? Apparently they’re silver, not “winter edition brown”.

Then he found crumbs under the seats I’m pretty sure have been there since the car was built.

I told everyone those marks “won’t come off”.

HE GOT THEM OFF.

Now I can’t eat in the car, open the windows or let anyone in without signing a damage waiver. My passengers are being handed white gloves and a safety briefing.

Anyway, I’m Danny, and yes, that’s me in the photo 🤣

Some of you may have noticed we disappeared for a while. Unfortunately, a very serious family emergency, alongside dislocating my knee, meant I had to completely step away from the business and close the page.

At that time, being there for my family and giving my knee the rest it needed had to come first.

Thankfully, the family emergency has now been resolved, I’ve fully recovered, and I’m ready to get back to doing what I love—making your cars look their best! 🚘✨

⚠️ YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR — IT REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE.

I’m seeing more and more people advertising “professional valeting/detailing” after doing it for a couple of months, offering £40 full valets and £45–£50 machine polishes.

I’m not knocking anyone for starting out — everyone starts somewhere. But calling yourself a professional and actually being experienced enough to deliver professional results are two very different things.

Detailing isn't just washing a car. Different surfaces require different chemicals, equipment and techniques. Machine polishing requires knowledge of paint, pads, compounds and how to safely correct defects without causing more damage.

Most importantly, proper detailing requires patience, experience and an almost obsessive attention to detail.

So if you pay £40 for a “full valet”, don't expect absolute perfection and an immaculate finish that takes a genuine professional hours to achieve.

It’s like asking a tattoo artist to do a detailed portrait for £40 and expecting it to look identical to the photograph. Would you trust it? I certainly wouldn't.

Your vehicle could be worth thousands — for many people it's their pride and joy, an investment or even part of their business image.

There’s an old saying for a reason:

“Pay peanuts, get monkeys.” 🥜🐒

Cheap doesn't automatically mean bad, and expensive doesn't automatically mean good — but skill, experience, quality products, professional equipment and meticulous workmanship cost money.

So choose carefully, check someone's previous work and understand what you're actually paying for.

Don't pay bargain prices and expect concours-level results.
