Many people think that hiring a professional carpet cleaner means every stain will disappear… but that’s not always the case.
The truth is, not all stains can be removed—even with professional equipment.
Here’s why:
Some stains don’t just sit on the carpet—they actually damage the fibres.
For example, bleach or strong chemicals can permanently remove colour. At that point, it’s no longer a stain, it’s dye loss—and that can’t be reversed.
Other stains like tea, coffee, wine, food spills or pet accidents can soak deep into the fibres (especially wool carpets). If they’re not treated properly and quickly, they can become permanent.
And one of the biggest issues I see? DIY attempts.
Shop-bought products and home remedies can: • Push the stain deeper
• Spread it further
• Or even cause permanent damage
By the time I’m called in, the stain is often much harder—or sometimes impossible—to fully remove.
Professional cleaning is designed to remove general dirt and improve the overall look of your carpet. Stain removal is a separate process, and while I get great results in many cases, no honest cleaner can guarantee 100% removal.
That’s why I always believe in underpromising and overdelivering.
If you ever have a spill or accident, feel free to message me first—I’m always happy to give free advice and help you avoid making things worse.
