Good Morning everyone! ☀️ IMPORTANT ‼️
I’d really appreciate it if you could take a minute to read this.
As a small business, I have been incredibly lucky to build such a loyal and supportive customer base over the years, and I’m so grateful for every single one of you.
I completely understand that life happens and sometimes cancellations are unavoidable. However, I have never experienced anything quite like this since the summer holidays began. Over the past week I’ve received cancellation after cancellation because people have booked last-minute holidays or weekends away.
For months I have kept everyone informed that I’d be reducing my working days over the summer holidays. This meant sacrificing work and income so I could balance my business with my children, while also paying a significant amount in childcare upfront so I could continue providing my services to you all.
Receiving messages day after day saying, “Can we cancel this week because we’re going camping?” or “We’ve booked a last-minute holiday,” has had a huge impact. As a self-employed person, I don’t receive holiday pay or sick pay, so every cancellation affects my income.
If anything, going away is often the perfect time to have your home cleaned. The dust, bathrooms and kitchen won’t clean themselves while you’re away, and it usually means there’s even more work to catch up on when you get back!
I don’t think many people realise the financial impact last-minute cancellations have on small businesses. We rely on our bookings to pay our bills, childcare costs and keep our businesses running.
All I ask is that everyone shows a little understanding and courtesy. ❤️
Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to those of you who continue to support me, respect my time and genuinely appreciate the work I do. Your loyalty never goes unnoticed, and I truly couldn’t do this without you.
Thank you,
Jen 🤍
