🦁 Happy World Lion Day! 🦁

This is what we have been doing today to celebrate!

🌸 Nature Mane Lions
We went on a walk to collect bright yellow, orange, and red flowers, then thread them through the cardboard lion face to make the prettiest mane!

✨ Flour Shadows
We laid out toy lions on the black card then sifted flour over the top to create a really cool lion shadow on the card.

🎀 Glueing & Sticking Fun
For this activity we got out some orange and yellow pieces of issue paper, cellophane and ribbon then stuck them to a paper plate to make our roarsome masterpieces.

We have been to our local park today exploring our gross motor skills!

We took it in turns to go up the rope ladder, showing off our muscles by climbing without assistance🧗🏻‍♂️. Superstars! ⭐

All the children enjoyed running around, explore a variety of different equipment. From the slide🛝, to the swings to even the wibble wobble bridge.

We’ve had an absolute hoot celebrating today with a full day of owl-themed fun:

This week, our Adventurers went on a seed detective mission! We sliced open apples🍎, oranges🍊, and pears🍐 to discover the hidden seeds that were inside.

Our sensory walk 🍋

The children explored a variety of textures during our sensory walk, using lots of lovely descriptive words to capture what they felt underfoot. Standing in the Orbeez brought out words like "squishy," "hard," and "bubbly," while the peas were declared delightfully "slimy."

The activity was a massive hit! The children loved it so much they went through the trail again and again, eagerly asking, "Can we go again?"

Today some of the children have been to Sapcote garden centre. We’ve seen some strawberries🍓, smelt some herbs 🌿and even spotted lots of different seeds.

We spoke about which seeds we could see. While looking at them, without telling the children, I explained a certain seed that grows into something orange. Something you can carve and is around at Halloween time. The children figured out I was holding pumpkin seeds🎃.

Our Adventurers had the absolute best time burning off some energy and exploring the big park today! 🏞️

Today we:

🧗‍♂️ Conquered the rope climb

🐴 Rode the horse and carriage

🌤️ Soared high on the swings

🌀 Spun around and around on the roundabout

Our Adventurers worked beautifully as a team to explore every corner. We loved watching them take turns on the equipment, encourage one another, and share so many lovely laughs together!⭐

The discoverers room have been taking full advantage of our new and improved areas in the garden room.

We have updated out mud kitchen with some lovely new recipes on the walls and delicious smelling herbs 🌿

We have also created a dinosaur🦖/animal🐄 land with different layers using tyres 🛞and wooden reels.

The children absolutely loved exploring our new areas!
