From ladder template to the final fit! 🤍🙌

A beautifully shaped desk top in Corian Glacier White, complete with seamless joins and a sleek sharknose edge detail. Looking rather smart, if I do say so myself! 😏

Why choose solid surface for a desk?

✨ Seamless finish for a clean, contemporary look
✨ Non-porous and easy to clean
✨ Durable and repairable — light scratches can be refinished
✨ Can be shaped to create something truly bespoke

Practical, stylish and built to last! 🤍

What do you think of that sharknose edge — sleek or what? 👀👇

20/10/2026

Well… I fu**ed that up! 😂🤦‍♀️

But a little more height and suddenly we’re back in business! 🙌

The doily is officially a bowl… of some kind! 🤣🤍

What do we reckon — creative genius or happy accident? 👀👇

18/10/2026

Who knew a doily could turn into a bowl? 😏🤍

A little computer programming, some clever cutting and a sheet of 6mm white solid surface… let’s see how this turns out! 👀

Can you picture the finished bowl, or have I completely lost the plot? 😂👇

Just another calm, relaxing week in the workshop… said absolutely no one ever. 😂🥵

This week has mostly consisted of doing lots and lots of bits…

Fitting tops ✔️
Making vanity tops ✔️
Making up white Soild surface stair strings ready for their walnut treads ✔️
A bit of lathe work ✔️
Stopping for a VERY necessary coffee ✔️☕
Sweating approximately 14 times my own body weight ✔️🥵

Basically, if it can be made, fitted, sanded, turned or sworn at… we’ve probably done it this week. 😂

And did I mention IT’S TOO BLOODY HOT?! ☀️🔥

Productivity is currently being powered by caffeine, questionable language and the occasional standing-in-front-of-a-fan break.

Roll on a nice cool workshop… sometime around November. 🤣

Seamless from workshop to installation. 🤍

This beautiful Tristone Snow Range worktop was fabricated with full-height coved splashbacks, then lifted into place in two sections with the splashbacks already attached. Once on site, the joins were seamlessly bonded together to create one continuous finish.

Finished with a Corian moulded sink, this installation is exactly why we love solid surface. No visible joins, smooth flowing lines, hygienic, practical, and built to last.

Sometimes the hardest part is getting it into the room… but the end result is always worth it! 👌

THE TOP IS FITTED!! 🙌🔥

And what a day it’s been… 😂

As much as we love a nice tall coved splashback (because let’s be honest, that’s what makes a solid surface worktop look 👌), we definitely don’t love plastered walls that have other ideas!

This corner decided to curve out by 6mm at the top… SIX MILLIMETRES! 🤦‍♀️ Enough to make any fabricator question their life choices for a minute! 😂

But… we worked our magic, the HI-MACS Pavia top is in, and just as expected, it looks absolutely spot on. 😍

And of course… that recessed drainer I temporarily forgot how to make? 😅 Worth the panic, because it finishes the whole top perfectly! 💪

Another happy customer and another reminder that no wall is ever actually straight! 🤣

UPDATE… THE YORKSHIREMAN IS BACK! 😂

The workshop can finally function again.

After a mid-job recap from the Yorkshireman, the recessed drainer is officially done! 💪

Turns out I hadn’t forgotten how to do it after all… I just needed someone to reboot my brain for five minutes! 🤦‍♀️🤣

Who knew the boss still needed technical support every now and then? 😅

24/07/2026

Here on my own at Designed Surfaces, achieving absolutely f**k all while I wait for the Yorkshireman to get back from holiday and give me the motivational kick up the arse I desperately need 😂

Apparently he’s taken my last remaining brain cell on holiday with him, because I’ve now forgotten how to do a recessed drainer… something I’ve done approximately 947 times before 😩🤦‍♀️

At this point I’m basically just wandering around the workshop looking busy and hoping muscle memory kicks in before Monday 😂

COME BACK, I’M UNSUPERVISED AND IT’S NOT GOING WELL! 🤣

🥵 30°C outside…

“Let’s put the oven on!” 🤦‍♀️😂

Completely normal decision when you work with solid surface!

Today’s job was heating up an old sheet of Corian® Beach Glass to thermoform a bespoke curved floating shelf and finish off a kitchen transformation.

The best bit? This sheet had been sat in the yard waiting for a second chance. Waste not, want not! ♻️

Some people cool off with ice cream… we crank the oven up to bend worktops. 🔥😅
