Definitely sure that this old grease is not doing what should after years of continuous top ups etc.
Cleaned and now ready for new to apply!!

The steel gears don't run submerged in grease. They only need enough grease for the teeth to pick it up and distribute it around the housing.
When overfilled:
✅ Increased drag on the gears
✅ Higher motor load and current draw
✅ Gearbox runs hotter
✅ Brushes may feel harder to turn by hand
✅ Reduced machine performance
✅ Premature wear of bearings and bushes

Airflex carpet machine needed replacement pump motor told can’t replace brushes needs whole pump motor which is absolutely crazy.
We replaced the carbon brushes back in February and it’s been working absolutely fine.
